A katana wouldn't be original, but if Nomura could customized it to look "not so katana like," then it would work... And saying it's a suprise means that we know for SURE, that Org. XIII isn't finished just yet. A possible sum would be that since you play in the past, you get to see the early days of the XIII order... Maybe...
