| Keyblade Wielder | Analysis of the Secret Ansem Reports For sure this time Ansem speaks about how he “nursed [Xehanort] back from death's door some years ago” (SAR1), and had “lost all his memories at the time”, had “remarkable intellectual curiosity”, and was at a “young age” (SAR1). Also curious were the “superhuman”, “extraordinary talents” (SAR1) that Xehanort had – perhaps “too extraordinary” (SAR1) as Ansem deems them. In the experiments of Xehanort and the other traitors - Even, Ienzo, Bleig, Dilin, Eleus - they collected a “large number” (SAR2) of people to be used in “dangerous experiments” (SAR2) in a “massive laboratory in the basement of [Ansem’s] castle” (SAR2). They generated “‘pureblood’ Heartless from living hearts” and then “used those Heartless to synthesize artificial versions” (SAR5). These “synthetic Heartless” (SAR5) had emblematic insignias on their bodies, and were appropriately called “‘Emblems’” (SAR5). When Ansem found out about these experiments, he demanded they “cease their studies” (SAR2) and “destroy the results of their research thus far” (SAR2). Ansem makes a statement about how people are not meant to “interfere in the depths of another's heart” (SAR2). This statement infers that the keyblade was not naturally created, but human made, since it is indeed a weapon that interferes in the “depths of another’s heart”. In yet another mention of the past that will probably be the main theme of Kingdom Hearts 3, Ansem refers to the legend of the keyblade, “said to bring both chaos and prosperity to the world” (SAR2). Not only does Ansem use the word “both”, meaning it is not a clashing of legends but a two-parter single legend, there is a mention of prosperity different from Xehanort’s mention of the legend. Xehanort merely mentions the keyblade “saved the world” (AR9) – not that it made the world a better place. Ansem discovers Xehanort’s Reports, the only one he had written himself being “number 0” (SAR2). He also speaks of “earlier reports” (SAR1), and I assume that most of the quoting done throughout the Secret Reports are from these “earlier reports” or the fake Ansem Reports, such as when he talks about his pursuit of knowledge about the “‘darkness of the heart’” (SAR1). There is no number 0, except for on the secret video, and I assume it is not merely a counting difference in the trailer from America and Japan. I think it was a deliberate addition in reference to this part of the Secret Ansem Reports. Xehanort had “gone on to pen numbers 1 through 8 himself” (SAR2), and he would continue to 11, where his heartless would finish off 12 and 13. Again, Ansem references this idea of chaos, in that it “affects not only this world, but many other worlds besides” (SAR3). The worlds, according to Ansem, are living things, and “all living things have hearts, and all hearts hold darkness deep within” (SAR3). Also, because a world is “colossal” (SAR3), so is the darkness it holds – but also “monstrous” (SAR3), an evil connotation. Through this logic, darkness is not a PERCENTAGE of the heart, but an actual quantitative amount. In reference to Ansem’s former apprentices, “believing it was for the sake of research, [they] stared deep into the darkness and were pulled into it” (SAR3). In doing so, they “ceased to be human” (SAR3). This being the first reference of humanity in any KH reference, I will take this chance to finally label humanity as a combination of the “three elements” (SAR4) needed “to create life: a heart, a soul, and a body” (SAR4). When separated, the human form ceases to exist. Ansem also says that if a person has a “strong heart”, the resulting Nobody “retains [the body’s] shape, with but the faintest visible changes” (SAR7) – like Roxas, Namine, etc. Finally, Kairi had “no corresponding” (SAR9) Heartless because she was a “princess” (SAR9) – finally, we know why the princesses are so revered. They have no darkness in their hearts. Namine, then, had her powers because of this situation of purity in Kairi’s heart. Ansem was banished to a “hollow realm of nothingness” (SAR3) by his traitorous disciples. In this “realm of nothingness” (SAR3), Ansem’s “anger and hatred” and “continuing to think and to write” (SAR5) allowed him to “retain [his] sense of self” (SAR4), in this place “where all existence is nullified” (SAR4). His heart became “overcome with hatred” (SAR4) and “possessed by the darkness” (SAR4). This “sense of self” is apparently highly prized by Ansem, as he mentions it when referring to the heartless: “When a person's heart is stolen [minus Kairi, Xehanort, and Sora], a Heartless is born with no sense of self” (SAR 10). Perhaps Ansem is saying how similar the effects of nothingness and darkness on the human condition are. Still, Ansem sought a way to escape his prison. He took to his knowledge of Heartless’ dimension jumping, saying that the Heartless are the “key” (SAR4) to escape. Also, the postulate that the soul could be a separate creature altogether was smashed here, as Ansem says “when the soul leaves the body…life gives way to death” (SAR4). The bodies and souls remain together if the heart is taken, being “reborn as entirely new beings in a completely different realm” (SAR6). Ansem decides to make a pact with darkness as a sort of last resort as he lost hope in the light, and since he does so he calls his new found darkness, “darkness is the midst of nothing” (SAR3) - ‘“Darkness in Zero” (SAR3) – hence the nickname “DiZ” (SAR3). Ansem achieved a “superhuman power - the power of darkness” (SAR6) when he accepted the darkness without fear. In contrast, “Xehanort and the others eventually [became] its prisoners” (SAR6), their hearts - since “darkness erodes the heart” (SAR7) - being “devoured by the darkness” (SAR6). With this new power, Ansem used – and perhaps created – a “corridor of darkness” (SAR6) connecting the “realm of nothingnesss to the outside world” (SAR6). But before he did so, Ansem used his power to “change form” (SAR6) before “returning to the realm of light” (SAR6). This tidbit of information settles yet another squabble, finally designating Sora’s “side” of realms as the one of light. Ansem mentions a “chasm between light and darkness” (SAR7), in which Castle Oblivion, Twilight Town, and Traverse Town all exist. Ansem set himself up in Twilight Town, and discovers that Nobodies that are created in this world are “reborn into this world as a different being” (SAR7) - not a “completely different realm” (SAR6) as said previously. Perhaps this is the realm spoken of by Xehanort’s heartless, where he ended up in the “present world” (AR13), or it may be the “in-between” (AR13) world he also mentioned. Ansem postulates about the process in becoming master of the heartless. “A human's commands would be ineffective” (SAR5), Ansem says, and would require an “even stronger Heartless” (SAR5) to give orders. This seemed to be the motivation of Xehanort’s band of heartless in getting to the heart of the world and Kingdom Hearts, since Xehanort’s heartless was the stronger Heartless. But, then how were the Nobodies able to control them? I wonder… Also, Kingdom Hearts was characterized as attracting “tremendous darkness to itself” (SAR6) and attempting “to send any and all matter back into its depths” (SAR6). And finally, Kingdom Hearts was given a specific form – “Kingdom Hearts, the most colossal heart of all” (SAR13). Also, Mickey “had dived into the realm of darkness” (SAR8), assumably to acquire his keyblade, and closed the door to Kingdom Hearts “from the realms of both darkness and light” (SAR8) with the help of Sora. This finally defined that what is behind the door to Kingdom Hearts is the realm of darkness. Nothing to be said about this, no arguing about what Kingdom Hearts is anymore, or what’s behind it, ya hear! READ THIS PART I deliberately left this part out of the upper bit, but here is my partial theory about where Xehanort came from. I personally believe Xehanort is a fake name, Ehanort being an anagram for his original name – perhaps so that people will not recognize it. In fact, I believe Xehanort is part of the legend of the Keyblade, and that he is the person in the secret video marching toward the heroes. I call them heroes because Nomura says that he wanted to make a “…more heroic design for them” instead of a dark coat. And as for the recognition theory, Nomura states that he “wanted to hide the faces of the people who showed up in there” on purpose. Anyhow, I believe the secret video is set in the past. Quite far in the past, like medieval times for Kingdom Hearts – mostly because of the armor. And because of Nomura’s mention that he “…can't tell you which generation it's in…”, suggesting either offspring or ancestral ties from the main characters to the soldier heroes. I believe that Ehanort fought, and yes fought with a keyblade (the chaos-soldier), and lost against the soldiers (the properity-bringing saviors), and was banished to the “realm of nothingness” - “a place where even time has lost all meaning” (SAR5). A place, perhaps, where time is so slow an “eternity” (SAR5) is like the blink of an eye. This would explain Xehanort’s longevity easily, and somewhat, his amnesia – if you think he wasn’t faking that – and “supernatural” abilities. Ansem acquired them there, and was in danger of losing his “sense of self” – a very easy excuse for losing your memories. I personally think Ehanort is feigning his amnesia, explaining how his disciples, like Xigbar, knew about the past keybladers. Nomura states that “there are questions like who created it [supporting my artificial keyblade creation theory], for what purpose, and Xigbar even said to Sora ‘Compared to the others in the past, you are lamer’” And, as for the field of keyblades, I believe that eventually more and more people will be able to use them – perhaps like a special keyblade for every special weilder. I think this mostly because Nomura says that when Kairi is holding a keyblade, that the “…scene is hinting something…”. Most obvious conclusion – new keyblade wielder Kairi. And lastly, in Ansem’s last report he proposes the question… “How did Xehanort manage to open the door that appeared in the basement of my castle…?” (SAR13). I think it’s a stupid question, read this. Ansem Report 5 - To study the Heartless behavior, I picked one out for observation. It wiggled its antennae and, as if sensing a target, headed deep into the castle. In the deepest part of the castle, its antennae began vibrating, as if searching for something. Suddenly, a strange door appeared. I'd never known of its existence. I had a large keyhole, but didn't seem to be locked. So, I opened the door. What I saw on the other side mystified me. What was that powerful mass of energy? That night I observed a great meteor shower in the sky. Could it be related to the door that I have opened? Yeh, there’s the answer Ansem the Stupid - the heartless showed you an unlocked door..duh.. Anyway, let me know what you think, or if you have any thoughts….leave me a message… Last edited by Twilight; 05/20/06 at 09:26 AM. |

| Keyblade Weilder | By the way, I noticed you left something out. Nomura has stated Xehanort is an anagram for "another" and "No Heart" thought you might wanna hear that. |
