yes he was, but 'supposedly' when he opened his heart to darkness, the keyblade left him, (read Jiminy's chronicles, and look at the discription for riku). Now, I personally think that the darkness at that time made him weak, which is why the keyblade left him, not because of the darkness. I mean how do you explain the keyblade going back to riku when They met in Hollow Bastion. Besides, we here all thses references about 'for that moment his heart was stronger, thats why he was chosen by the keyblade" basically, with the word "stronger'
