Sora and Kairi?

I was just wondering... When Sora and Kairi finally meets again in TWTNW, Sora did not lool too happy to see her again. Why? Or was it just because Kairi was looking a bit different from the last time he saw her. But it almost seems like Sora doesn't like her like before at that moment.. What do you think about that? I still think that they're meant to be, but something is weird about that scene.

yeah but its kairi ...he wouldnt ever treat kairi so "coldly" ... half the reason he puts himself through hell is becuase of her ...if you notice - throughout the entire game (KH2) ..all he does is say riku, kairi? ...where are you ..or have you seen riku or kairi ..like its just weird that'd hed doo that unless he was so shocked that a different looking girl than he expected to see ran up an hugged him

Maybe because Kairi wasn't supposed to be there in the first place - she was supposed to have stayed her little annoying ass on that island, not get herself kidnapped again, and behave. The whole point of Sora continuing his journey in KH2 was to find Riku. Seriously. He had no thoughts for Kairi until he heard that she got her ass kidnapped AGAIN, it was all Riku, Riku, Riku.

I'd be looking the same way that Sora did too if I saw some ugly red-haired girl run up to me and wrap her arms around me. Disgusted more like it.

Ok this is how i see it:

Ok Sora already knew Kairi was alright after kh1 becuase she was left savely on the islands but Riku on the otherhand wasn't he was somewhere and Sora didn't know where...he couldv'e been dead or worse.
Thats why he was sooo happy and even crying when he ran into Riku at TWTNW. Really its simple and i know she was kidnapped by Axel and the others later on but really what could org. do to her and he was acting like he really wanted to save her and everything when he got on his knees infront of aw shoot i forget his name and he is one of my favs.(the blue haired one) at Radiant garden. But anyway thats why. I guess they could've gave him more emotion when seieing Kairi was ok but the moment was really around seeing if Riku was ok

It's not a matter of like and dislike. I think it's more so that, yes, he was surprised to see her. I mean it's been a year since their eyes last met. He could be disappointed in her being there when he wanted her safe back on the island. Or perhaps even guilt that he'd spent so much time away that she decided she had to do something about it and ended up getting herself landed in the whole mess. With how Sora is, I think it's the latter.

Sora is a very loving individual whom has gone through a lot in the past year or so for his friends. To be frank, I think because he is the "Key to Light" and all that jazz, he feels like it's his and only his responsibility to bring Riku back and reunite the trio. Yet, with the appearance of Kairi, perhaps he feels he has failed. Sora more or less promised to her, after all. He's happy to see her but there's a lingering feeling of remorse and sadness. Especially since he has not located Riku as he promised he would, despite all her waiting.

That is perhaps why he reacts to Riku so desperately not long afterwards. It's not a matter of him adoring Riku more than Kairi but instead that things are finally falling into place. The trio is actually reunited and he was all but clueless until Kairi mentioned it. All a matter of interpretation though.
