Should we ban the Confederate Flag?

The confederate flag shouldn't be banned even though I don't care much for it. Lots of people think confederates are all about racism and moonshine which is partly true but the fact of the matter is the flag is merely a flag. Now it sounds wishy washy but as most know the swastika is mainly recognized as a symbol of hatred and racism but long ago it was the excat oppisite. A sign of peace to the buddhists and many many Asians it was. now if the swastika was never turned around and used as a way of striking fear into people it wouldn't even be a bad thing to see. As would the confederate flag. If the flag wasn't used in the way that it was then it would just be a flag, right? So if you used let's say the Mcdonald's logo in place of the swastika it would have the same effect after many years. So if people want to have the flag in their possesion fine because to me a symbol means nothing, only people that beleive in stuff like that, the ignorant and the evil.

Yes, it should be banned. I'm offended when I see it. But, I see NAZI flags for sale all the time, so it will probably never get banned.

Nowhere in the United States Constitution does it guarantee citizens the right not to be offended.

Didn't you just complain in a separate thread that you can't stand gays, yet you're offended by the confederate flag.
