| A FAWKING KEY-TRIKE? STOOPID IDEA!! | am curious to why so many people support illegal immigration. Let me rephrase that; I am curious to why so many people support illegal immigration. It is estimated that there are over twenty million illegal immigrants in the United States of America today and over two million people, mostly of Mexican nationality, attempt to cross the border every year. I understand why they come here, the better living conditions, work, healthcare, etc. I do not blame them. I hear so many who disagree with enforcing illegal immigration laws but all I ever hear them say that I am some sort of racist. I kind of understand it from a political standpoint, Democrats tricked the public to believing they are for the lower and middles class, which in actuality, they really are not although this also includes the Republicans and their largely pro-business agenda. The Democrats, since they are the political party that most ethnic minorities adhere to, think they play up the race card and get the Latino votes because of their pro-immigration policies. Republicans think they can get the Latino votes because of connecting with a mostly conservative, Christian group that would serve as a future loyal base of the party. For those who do not support illegal immigration the list is endless for why, they don't pay taxes, they crowd the prisons, take jobs from legal tax paying Americans, they overcrowd and dilute our school systems, they strain the healthcare system, I could go on. If we aren't going to enforce our borders or immigration laws, at least put up giant naturalization centers along the borders, much in the manner of Ellis and Angel Island although a bit more humane, and make them tax paying citizens. I want to hear what the American public has to say with the sampling being the KHInsider community. |

| doesn't play well with others | I want to acknowledge before I state my opinions that illegal immigration is not a subject that I'm capable of approaching with an unbiased perspective. Namely because if not for illegal immigration, I would not be here today. I haven't read the original post yet, so it may be well thought out or a collection of racist rants but consider this my disclaimer. Quote:
They work for a ridiculously low amount of money in terrible conditions because those circumstances are better than what they came from. And you expect them to be concerned about taxes? If only this site had a better emote of someone rolling their eyes... Provide some sort of a source for this, because I don't think that's very likely. If an illegal immigrant is arrested, wouldn't they be deported before being sentenced to an American prison? Like you would really shovel shit into a plastic bag for $1.25 an hour. Your choice of words didn't make sense to me, so I decided to look up the word dilute as a reference: 1 : attenuate 2 : to make thinner or more liquid by admixture <diluted wine> 3 : to diminish the strength, flavor, or brilliance of by admixture <dilute a color> 4 : to decrease the per share value of (common stock) by increasing the total number of shares Apparently ethnic students decrease the strength, flavor and brilliance of public schools. And overcrowding? Why, certainly, we have to make sure that there's plenty of room for all the white students. Integrity should come before nationalism. I don't know what makes you think that they have any desire to become citizens in the first place. It all comes down to empathy. We have a better standard of living, but in return we ask that they hand over their cultural identity.

| buried beneath the waves. | People living in the U.S. should have to pay taxes because whether you refuse to believe it or not, the government is providing road systems, education and other things throughout the country. you can't expect to have everything handed to you. i am against illegal immigration. apply for citizenship, get a green card, marry an American, get adopted, or gtfo. i don't care how much you're willing to work for and under what conditions, this is our country. you don't see billions of Americans flooding Mexico. have some respect. |

| i haet men | Of course we should strengthen our borders, but we should provide some sort of citizenship program for illegal immigrants here. We should also make strict regulation that stops companies/corporations from taking advantage of the situation and paying their immigrant workers pathetically low wages. We also need to provide MUCH more aid to Mexico and South America. It is really sad that so much shit happens so near us. If we improve the quality of living in those countries, there will be significantly fewer people trying to sneak into the United States. The immigration system also needs reform, so it is easier and more effective. I know there are complexities involved, but what I'm talking about is just common sense. |

1.Neither do Republicans. 2.They get deported, not sent to prison. 3.Yeah, the ones Americans don't want to do. 4.Dilute...the same as Sam said here, and having foreign students in schools isn't that bad a thing. As far as I can tell, there's not that much overcrowding but I suppose it may be different wherever... 5.Then go Canadian and get Universal Healthcare. 6.Please do, someone'll be around to fight back.

Why don't you have some respect for human life? I'd love to see you trade places with somebody living in third world Mexico instead of attacking their integrity using a medium they'll most likely never be exposed to.

| Enigmatic Soldier | It seems okay in the sense that illegal immigration takes away jobs most Americans would not perform themselves. No American, as Sam said, would shovel feces into a bag for $1.25 an hour. The motivation that comes from learning that people are taking the basic jobs can send many Americans to work for higher education and a good job. |

I don't think many people are for illegal immigration, I just think there are variations in how much people sympathize for illegal immigrants. It's a political hot potato. Still, I can't say I have much of an opinion on the matter.

Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() Level: 21 EXP: | And we haven't helped them try to rebuild. We basically left it was a shit hole and complain when people don't want to live there. Rag is right. To really stop this, Mexico needs aid. If we really want to be what we think we are, we need to do actual good :\ |
