After reading Chevalirs thread, I understand that there is a need for each side, in the infamous Christain vs Evolution debate, to understand the others beliefs.

So I've dedicated this thread to furthering my (and anyone else interesting) knowledge in Evolutionist theories and beliefs.

This thread is not about bashing evolutionist and trying to convert them to any religion; its more of a logical thread if you will.

I'll start off with a question:

what species would you say were the first evolved (or started the whole process)

Well, that would be the bacteria, the first organisms of just a single cell, which were relatively simple.

Cells? And eventually they became...fish...then monkeys...then us.

edit: nevermind, I have to idea what I'm talking about.

Well, if you have a large population of cells (bacteria are asexual and just divide themselves), some will group together and will start working together. That increases their chance of survival in certain environments, in other places, bacteria worked alone, since they weren't beneficial to eachother.

You're question has already been addressed, so I'll just say this;

I believe in a sort of combination of science and religion. Maybe I just can't make up my damned mind, but this is what I think --

that God created the potential of existence, and the evolutionary process did happen. It's bullshit for a person to say, "YAH, GOD JUST SAID POOOF LET DER B LITE AN DEN DER WUZ PPL LOL", like humanity was just pulled out of a hat. There's so little chance of humanity even coming into existence in the first place, I don't think that it was coincidence - or a magic trick.

I do believe that the Higher Power in charge of all this, simply put, had a plan in mind and let the universe form itself like science says. Rocks hit other rocks over and over, forming planets, humanity wasn't pulled out of a hat, and everything fought for existence, but with its fate in hand. Maybe this is just saying that everything's up to fate. At least, until free will comes into play. But that's much later.

So. There was the potential of existence, and then evolution occured. In my opinion, of course.

In this case, yeah. Theo-evolutionist is as close as one can get to describing my beliefs on this.

Thats what i believe aswel.
God created us. Maybe not directly but he did. For what reason i cant explain yet but I think he gave us the beggings of life and had planned out how everything would happen and knew we would dominate and aknowledge some of his power and thank him. It wasnt an accident. We happen to exist for a divine reason.

Let's just keep it at evoution only, it's a thread to ask question. It also makes me wonder if the mods shouldn't move this to intel, to keep it like it should be.
