| Are you connected? | Now I know that a thread like this has been created once, but since there aren't even enough to make a full page, I figured that it deserves another since an individual's opinion has a tendacy to change as they grow and mature. And just to be clear, I'm using any references at this point for the fact that this is complete opionated and doesn't really call for references at the moment. Anyways, my personal opinion on the issue is that I agree with the death penalty. We still use it in my state and to my knowledge we have no plans to get rid of it. I feel that it is needed because there are certain crimes where death is the only possible punishment to get through to the person that what they did was that severe. Sure it might seem inhumane to others, and I respect that. I understand that the family that the accused is leaving behind is normally grieving about it, but they only feel the pain that that the family of the victim felt. Another bit that I believe is the law or bill, not sure if it passed, in Texas where if the accused has three or more eye witnesses against him, that he/she goes directly to the death. That being said, I also do NOT believe in the saying, "An eye for an eye make the world blind." It is my own opinion that it actually opens the eyes of others. By using the accused as an example, it would put the fear into a large number of the population not to do what it is that the accused has done. This is a simple game of playing off the fears of the people. Most people fear what death has in store him/her so it is effective. All that being said, I also believe in the use of the electric chair. I know that it is not very energy effective, but it does torture the person as he/she is being killed. I support this only for those that have killed multiple times. They have put the multiple families through anguish and pain and deserve to feel every bit of it as he/she dies. As for all others, lethal injections which includes the crime of pedofilia, sorry if I spelled it wrong. I believe this should be considered a capital punishment for the fact that in a sense, the adult robs the child of his/her purity. In a sense, a life for a life. But in the case of multiple cases of pedofilia, the electric chair because they have taken multiple "lives" and deserve to feel the pain that all of their victims have felt. You may think that all of this is unbaised, and you could possibly be right on one case. That case is pedofilia thanks to my sister. But all others are completely biased. Anyways, what are your opinions and thoughts on this subject? |

| Are you connected? | No. It's actually really rare that I come to this side of the forums. But hey, I know that someone made it at one point in time so I figured that I'd remake it to save someone else the trouble. |

Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() ![]() Level: 20 EXP: | I support the death penalty in extreme cases for which there are no hopes for the offender to ever reform and contribute to normal society, like a mentally deranged serial killer. However, I don't support cruel methods such as the electric chair, that put the victim through agonizing pain. If this person is of no good use in society, then they should be taken out of the picture quickly and quietly. There's no need to make a big fuss about them paying for their crimes, for even if they are tortured for their crimes, what good is that going to do? Nothing. The most constructive course of action is to eliminate them quickly and quietly. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: 10 EXP: | Death penalty is a lot better for the criminal himself then others. He just has to suffer for like half an hour and then it's over. If he were to be put in a cell for his whole life he would have to stay in such a shitty place for the rest of his life. I sure know i would lose my sanity if i had to stay in jail for the rest of my life. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() Level: 16 EXP: | Unlike you, Capital Punishment in my country is illegal. I wish we did use it though, some people in this world just shouldn't be aloud to live. I would only have it happen to people that have killed another or people that have done really twisted things. I wouldn't kill people just for the sake of it, now that would be twisted. At times like these I wish I had a Death Note *sigh* |

| Sidekick | i agree with candy_man_01. its also illegal in my country (UK) but i think it should still be used in extreme cases such as serial killers or child molesters. this way it would put a stop to it, especially as these people can earn time off their sentence for being 'good' in prison. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() Level: EXP: | I support it, I believe that those criminals that are so hopeless to the point that they keep either bouncing back and fourth from the outside world to prison or are stuck in prison for life and still cause trouble may need the death penalty or something nonlethal that changes them to be more productive members of society. |

Rep Power: 9 ![]() ![]() Level: 26 EXP: | I disagree with the death penelty. I just don't believe anyone should have the power to make that decision about another person. I'm not religious, but "thou shalt not kill" shouldn't just apply to individuals. Besides, why would you give a sociopath what they want? Just lock them up in solitary for the rest of their life. |

| Are you connected? | Well let me ask you this, Johnny. What about those that steal the life of another outside of contained means. The victim of a murder having that choice take from them. Do you not belive that the killer deserves to have that choice taken from him or her as well? |
