Well?

I'm for it.
But I think it's better to approach this one at a time. Weed first, and then go from there.

Crime rates would be cut.
Room would be freed up in the prisons.

Well, if its used as painkillers and stuff, I suppose its OK ... but legalizing it is going a little too far, don't you think? Sure, it may "lower crime rates" because smoking pot would be legal - but that would mean the streets would be filled with crackheads. Its not solving the problem, its just sugar coating it. Drugs were banned for a reason. [s]Google it[/s].

Whether or not it will be legal, nothing is going to change about how everyone uses it. Just look at medical marijuana. Some hospitals put that in vending machines now. Patients beg for "drugs" to "help" them with their current state of their "unhealthyness". I don't think that's even a word. So the point iss, whether or not it will be legal, nothing is going to change about how everyone uses it.

Cannibus was banned because of ignorance that was created by an alliance of tobacco and alcohol companies (see: Reefee's Madhouse), and was banned under the name "marijuana" which at the time was a relatively unknown term.

It's gotten a lot of bad press for nothing. Cigarettes are more of a threat to humanity as a whole than weed.

Uh, everything will change. Many people smoke it because it's illegal but easy to get.

I think if they make it legal they would need to treat it like alcohol. Because crimes really wouldn't be cut when you see someone so high accidently hit someone cause they couldn't react right. I don't mind it be legal then again I really don't feel like smelling the stuff either. So many people do it though that it is getting to the point that they might as well legalize it.

I'm for having Weed legal. Not because I want to do it, or do it. But because money could actually be made of it. It's highly unlikely but imagine weed being like cigarettes. Being able to buy them in a store. A lot of people would buy it, the government could tax the shit out of it. It's highly unlikely that it would happen that way, but shit, it would seem like a fairly good idea to me.

Eh, they shouldn't legalize it.
If they do, there will be more drug dealers, that right there, is already bringing more problems.

TOTAL NOOB RESPONSE HERE
If you legalize it, it will do just the opposite. Shops will open up like Coffee Houses, and drug dealers will become obsolete. No one will need to get there weed from some shady mofo any longer. It will reduce crimes. People who think this way must educate themselves.

Actually when you think about it like that it could actually increase crime. When companies start taking in account they can sell weed they are making drug dealers who relied on selling now have to find a whole new profession. They might not be able to which could in return cause them to steal or go further with in order to create a alife they want.

With all the money from the taxes you can make off the legalization of weed, police will be payed more, and we can increase funding on the REAL war on drugs.

Yes but if it is legal then they will make the personal selling of it illegal. SO people that are growing at home would be considered a criminal as they were already. Overall I don't see an upside outduing a downside. So just leave it how it is because it really isn't hard to get anyway. If you smoke long enough you have a dealer that you consider reliable anyway so the shady part gets knocked off a bit.

Not really. People get caught all the time. One person getting put in jail for pot is too much. You don't need a plant in your house. If you want weed you go buy it legally. I see the upsides outweighing the downsides greatly. If you were caught smoking weed by the 5-0, you wouldn't want to be put in jail. I'd rather have the comfort of knowing I can do it in my house, knowing it's legal. I'm sure the kids being put away for it would agree. No one would sell it anyway, because Coffee House's would have the dank, and would probably sell it reasonably.
