Joss Whedon had a comment on this but I cannot find it at the moment however the basis of this thread is this: I realize that everyone has a life out of the forums, games and anime but I do not believe that a large majority of us are stereotypical nerds who don't have girlfriends or a jobs. I don't why but it seems to offend (I shouldn't let myself be offended by anything) me because I enjoy things like anime and video games and I want to share myt hobbies with someone but I am not some who lacks any life whatsoever yet alone living. I cannot really think thoroughly about this quote enough to comment on it but what is basically your response to this?



By the way if anyone can find Whedon's answer to Shatner, I would appreciate it!

well many people have lives in here too
like me, I am team captain of the varsity basketball team in my group and I just joined this site since I like kingdom hearts and I wanted to find out when KH3 comes out but since I found this web interesting I started to take part of the forums...
my point here is that you would be surprised what other people are doing besides just being here in the forums

People say that because this society has certain ways of living that are accepted. If you are involved in some sort of sport, are currently in a romantic relationship, have a large group of friends, have a job, and dress in a way that people like, you're good. If you spend most of your time in front of the computer, prefer Japanese media over American (or whatever non-asian nation you're from), have the physical health of a middle-aged man, have never been in a relationship, or wear clothes that do not include jeans, hooded sweatshirts, a long-sleeved shirt under a short sleeved shirt, and skateboarding shoes, then society says "ure doin it rong".

But, really, who gives a shit? At least where I live (I don't know about all you forners out there), I can't be executed for this [S] yet [/S]. If someone has a way of living they like, then they should continue to live as such. If you're embarressed because other people think your hobbies are lame and say "lol, get a life", then you're a faggot who doesn't have enough self-confidance to not care about what the general populize thinks.

Humans cannot gain full understanding of one another. Especially about each other's life. Why waste time pondering the other guy's life? That pondering guy is the one that needs to get a life. Pathetic. Wasting one's time on asking questions as to how a certain individual lives their life, wanting answers to which they will never get and understand, instead of focusing on their's. Yeah, coming from the proud Wii owner, lol. Just kidding I have a Wii and I love it! (Smash Brawl, Animal Crossing, you name it). But I've run into this problem. People at my school think that just because people aren't doing what they do (ie partying, drinking, doing dumb stuff) then they aren't "living."

Well who are they? Everyone's diverse, let's stop judging one another and live our own lives. Heck Bill Gates was called a loser and nerd (I consider the term nerd a compliment) and look at him now. He makes more money a day then some do over the course of years.....

I'm very familiar with those types of assholes. Those of us with brains just have to stick together on this one.

I hate how some people think that just because you like different things (or sometimes REALLY different things) that makes you weird and in no ways social. My best friend and I have almost completely different interests, but it's just that. We don't copy each other to be friends or to be accepted, but accept each other as the way things are :)
