Tiny machines in the bloodstream? You're talking about nano-bots now? Nano-bots are nowhere near possible at this time. Nor do we have the technology to create something so small that can also receive commands and transmit information. That would take a few more decades, unfortunately.

Err.... nanobots really are not possible. The smallest nanobot is still really at least the size of a good-sized lego piece. Kinda hard to inject in your bloodstream eh?

Actually, nanobots would not be mechanical in the way we are familiar with. A kind of genetically programmed protein would work just fine.
