Pfft, with an attitude like that, I'd be surprised if you could make new ones.

It's better then being completely pessimistic about everything.

...wow

So your entire family and everyone you love dies whilst you just get to sit back and watch? No worries you will make new ones. If you can do that and keep watching the people you care about leave you whilst you continue and carry on then you must really not give a shit about your family and friends.

I can't even bear it when loved ones leave me and are still alive, let alone when they ****ing die, have you lost friends and loved ones? I have lost 2 of my best friends, (car crash, not pretty) and let me tell you, it is not something I would wish to relive for eternity.

So caring is pessimisitc? If caring about the people I love and not wishing to see them hurt or taken away means I am a pessimistic, then I guess I am a pessimist.

So you would spend forever alone, feeling terrible about it?

That seems like a waste of your own life. I wasn't saying that I wanted my friends and family to die, it would be a terrible experience. But there is a point where mourning is over and you can get on with life.

There is a difference in moving on in life and not caring.

The way your original comment came across was that you didn't particularly give a **** either way. I appologize if I offend you, but it isn't always so easy to get over someone you lose.

Move on with life for sure, but don't just replace people you lose.

Make new friends, find new people to love, but don't just forget so easily the ones you loved before.

I do care, and I did not mean to come across like I didn't.

I see dead people. That sorta comes to mind.

I guess what I think of is a cemetary full of flowers on a cloudy day. I also sorta think of the end of the world too. It's one of the most feared things in a person's life, but not the #1 thing (public speaking!). Just knowing that you're life is going to end one day and you don't know when, where, or how is just creeps into your mind. I always think of a possible "World in Between" which is basically still on earth as a soul because you're torn between your wish to stay and going to where you're supposed to go or something like that.

It depends on your beliefs about death, really. I believe that after death there is complete nothingness. Like a sleep. I guess... when I think about it it somewhat reminds me of suffocating or drowning for some reason. And because of that I feel somewhat anxious thinking about it. But in the end, I don't really fear death for many reasons.

The thing about death that scares me is how it will come about. I would prefer a peaceful death, thank you very much. I don't want to be brutally murdered or anything... when I was a child I had frequent dreams of myself dying NOT so peacefully in many different ways so that always takes it's toll on me...

Although death implies some way of going to heaven/eternal sleep/nonexistence afterwords/reincarnation/etc, I see it as more of an awakening of sorts. Because of my philosophical views, I dont really fear death, when it comes, it comes, and I'll be waiting for the day that death frees me of the chains that bind me in this world.

Death is something natural, logical, and required. When my time comes, I'll just let it happen. It's not really that big of a deal. =/

There's a rather large difference between understanding it's logical and wanting it and accepting it.

Death...

Death is a frightining concept, and yet, it's inevitable. Probably the thing that's frightening about it, is the idea of not existing anymore. And yet, people always say, "They're in a better place now." It's kinda scary. Because death is inevitable, at some point, we all have to come to accept it. And yet, most of us are afraid of it. How do we really know that there is another place until we're dead? That's what makes it scary. Not existing in the world anymore. We've known this world all our lives, and when we're dead, we have to go to another? What if there isn't another? What if, once we're dead, we're forgotten? We just dissapear? It's scary. But, that's what makes it inevitable. Nothing can stay or live forever, the world would be too crowded if death didn't exist.

I'm still afraid of it, despite those things.

I'd have to say, that the one thing I want most, before I die, is to leave a legacy or a mark on history. I want to be remembered, so, if we do just Dissapear, I'll still be remembered. Recent events have given me a new point of view towards everything, reshuffled my priorities. If i were to die in a month, I'd do something really big, leave my mark on history. And then, the most important thing, would be to let all my friends and family know how much I love them. Life wouldn't have a point to it with no friends or family. I need them to know how much I care about them, because they don't know already. I've done horrible things to the ones I care about most, and that would be my first priority.

I don't beleive in an after life as in we come back reincarnated.

I do believe our spirit leaves the body and soul, and goes on to heaven. or hell. depending on the quality of life.

the lake of fire in hell doesn't appeal to me at all

I also believe that God will make better planet and some people in heaven will be there.
