Oh hey, this also brings up another topic: Why are ppl of the same race attracted to each other? This is in general, a lot of ppl go cross-racial, but I for example prefer an Asian girl over a white girl. I just find them better lookin XD

Even though it is something that should strike as rather irrelevant, race might still be a considerable factor affecting love. Now a days though, it acts on a relatively low scale though and many people chose to ignore it. Still though, I guess it is an interesting fact to consider though. I guess it might have to do with the way in which, since you were raised around people of similar race, then you probably associate the race with good memories and thus, the attraction towards people similar to it might be a little biased towards that particular race^

Wow. o.o This conversation is really interesting. I don't think I'm really smart enough to understand everything you guys have talked about, but it is interesting nonetheless.

I don't have any clue what love is, except that it is a confusing concept. Of course, I've never experienced any kind of love beyond infatuation.

I think I'll just follow this topic and see where it leads me.

I'd like to contradict that. Love is very close to hate - I know its very cliche'd but its true. You like a girl, she rejects you, you're heartbroken. If love is nurtured and accepted by that girl, then maybe what you said above is correct, but if you're rejected, then you can be envious.
Say your best friend went out with that girl. Would you be envious? Of course. If your girlfriend cheated on you, would you be "easily angered"?
Once again, this is in general, but it seems like what most people would do...

Not always. I'm an American born Chinese - Chinese by blood, American by birth/upbringing. I've lived mainly around Americans, and knew maybe 3 Asians in my 9 years in America, but I still like Asians. Of course, this is only one example, so I can't be sure it applies universally.

I don't think I'm really smart enough to understand everything you guys have talked about, but it is interesting nonetheless.

Not necessarily, most animals only have sex during the mating season, or when they're in heat. Humans reproduce like mad. Only a few other creatures have sex whenever they want.

I agree with Akans, love can be related to hate and jealosy depending on your situation (i.e. im currently in love with a girl whose going out with one of my friends and im jealous ... and hate myself for it ...)

edit: and the whole race thing ... personally i think race has nothing to do with love, but hey, thats me, again, depends on what kind of person you are ...

But I'm guessing that your Family is of Asian origin right?
(I'm just making an assumption here. there's also that 40% chance that you were adopted into an American Family which would then force me to bring about another argument)
So yeah, if you IN FACT were of an Asian (or Asian-looking for that matter) family you were raised most of your early life around that race, and your filial bond with your parents (of that race) might be the factor that I'm referring to^

And I don't disagree with that.
Love does act very much like a sickness. If you think about it from the whole psychological standpoint, it is a form which may bring upon the individual other self-inflicted diseases such as depression or mental allusion of sickness. However, it is also something that works towards the benefit of the individual's health as well.
We just have to accept the fact that it is a sickness that not many people want to have treated or cured. lol

As I stated before though, Love is an archetypal form easily controlled and inflicted only by the Mind itself.
It is in Fact Possible (as hard as it might be for some individuals to accept) To "Love" practically every single living being on this planet. (either for the means of sexual pleasure or a systematically intangible bond)
What I was trying to do a couple of pages ago was to come up with a general definition of the terms that make up "Being IN Love" as a form in itself to further understand such epitomized ideal^

Agreed. I find the concept of "love at first sight" to be utterly ludicrous. How can you "love" someone you barely even know?
