The REAL explanation of global warming

ok, so lately ive been hearing stuff like " ohh... go green and stop the climate crisis" well, let me tell you this. there is no crisis. let me explain global warming in a nutshell.

Global warming is a process that has been taking place since the begining of time, it is natural, and it goes through a precise cycle. NOW- people are saying stop burning oil, and gasoline because its making global warming happen. THAT is not true. see, since global warming has been happening since the begining of time, then there obviously couldnt have been oil or gasoline, due to the fact that oil is made from decomposed fossils beneath the earth which would take hundreds of years to form. So it COULNT have been because of oil, which is my counter argument for this discussion. i know global wariming is happening, but WE are NOT the cause. happy discussioning.

It's is the greenhouse effect that has always been here on earth, not global warming. Global warming is something that started with the industrial Revolution and is is caused by using fossil fuels. When all the oil and gas still were in the ground, the carbon that it contained wasn't part of the carbon-cycle. When man started pumping it up and use it, he added more carbon to the cycle and because of that too much greenhouse gasses got in the atmosphere.

The climate has been changing since the day this planet was created. They are just saying it's changing faster than ever, but I am pretty doubtful about the whole crisis. I read somewhere that even though the climate is warming, the south pole is actually getting colder. I don't know if this is true, but then I would think that this is just temporary.
And I'm pretty sure that things will get better after we stop using fossil fuels and start using non-polluting fuels. It was said in the news that Norway is going to cut their greenhouse-gas emissions to zero percent by the year 2020, I guess. So we will find a way to stop this, I'm pretty positive.

Ya, I don't think it's really that big of a deal. Another huge piece of evidence is that the depths of the ocean are not changing in temperature. The surface is, which leads to the conclusion of just a natural cycle of the Earth.

Now I'll say that I don't know if the amount of fuels we use is having any effect. It may be, but on the large scale it may be like 10% of the reason for the change. It's a minor reason.

Anywayz, yes "global warming" is something that has occured many times in the geographical history of the planet, evidence from ice cores etc etc shows that. The issue now is not so much that the temperature is increasing, but the fact that we aren't exactly helping it with the amount of pollutants we are sending up every day.

Before when the temperature has increased it has been natural and the planet has re-sorted itself out, however this time, because of the added influence of humans we have no idea what is going to happen now. Yes temperature change has happened before, but the context is different now, it hasn't happened like this before. That is why it is why it is a concern, because of the unpredictability of it.


For sure using fossil fuels isn't CAUSING it but it is adding to it.

I live next to a plant/factory. It makes smoke every matafaking day. Where do you think it´ll end up? Nothing can be destroyed. The smoke goes to farthes atmosphere and it makes our planet warmer.

It´s not just the oil. when i.e. cows are emptying their gases, it raises the warmth of our planet.

The cows aren't an important part of the problem, like 10% or so. Besides cows are pretty important for the food supply, they are the only animal that give us dairy products and also a lot of meat.

Natural "Global Warming" has been happening since the beginning of time, as everyone has said. Climate change is natural. But climate change is not always warmer. Remember the Ice Age?

Humans are affecting the process. They are making it warmer and warmer and warmer and warmer, with fossil fuels and crap.

Global Warming exists. Humans are disrupting the natural process.

An anologious explanation: The Earth is like an ice cream. It melts or freezes depending on where it is. Humans are a deep-fat frying pan. We're making the Earth go to one side of the temperature extreme. Fast. Too fast for the Earth to recover.

Yes the Earth's climate is always changing, everyone knows that, that's why the Ice Age occured.
BUT, Humans are adding way too much CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, so much that the Earth is having trouble recovering from it. Its not just the power plants that produce CO2, its cars, and burning gasoline.
There are over 600 Million cars in the world, each one emitting on average 22.29 pounds of CO2 emissions per gallon of gas. So let's say every car has a gas tank that hold... Ehh, 25 gallons? That adds up to 334,350,000,000 pounds of CO2 emissions just for cars alone.

People seem to think we are far too small to have an impact on somthing as large as the earth, but we obviously are. Rising temperatures makes the ocean warmer, therfore encouraging more intense Hurricanes than normal. Example? Katrina.

Warmer temperature also melt the Ice Caps, not only killing off Polar Bears, but it also adds thousands upon thousands of gallons of water into the ocean, which can be devastating to low lying areas, such as the coasts of Florida, Louisiana, Japan, and China.

If you think we have no affect at all on what is happening, you need to be more accuratley educated. And plus, what would it hurt to go green? All we would have to do is stop being lazy.

There is a Power Plant near my house that has absolutely no emissions whatsoever. I don't know the details, but the only thing that comes out of there is steam, and if our Orlando power plant can do it, why not everyone else?

The only real problems with global warming are the flooding, [it can't be that hard to relocate Manhattan], and the species that will go extinct. But, since we've somehow been appointed savior of all that lives, we feel it necessary to fight natural selection. Life goes on.

Natural selection is the process of mating the best of the best to make a species that much stronger, i think you have your theories mixed up...

And if you read my post warmer oceans mean more intense Hurricanes, people die. But then again who cares right?

It's still not as bad as people make it out to be.

No, I'm not saying I don't care about those people, but it's not the apocalypse upon us either.

We may not be the cause, but by the way we do somethings speeds up the process. At least people are trying to help (even though it may not be enough) by trying to slow down what we emit (Hybrids, other sources of energy, etc. They got cars that run on electricity in Japan!). Major help might not come in until the last minute. The Earth is close to being beyond repair right now, but at least it looks like we're trying.
