The REAL explanation of global warming

We're discussing the Earth and its species, but all that article showed was the strength of the species, not necissairily the Earth itself. Sure an impact crater would cause a deformity in the earth's crust, but nothing with lasting effects for the planet.

The atmosphere is different, being harder to repair, though the earth USUALLY cleans it on its own with rain (Reason for acid rain) but with the addition of man burning Greenhouse gasses, (CO2, etc.) the planet is slowly losing its ability to clean up our mess.


And as for Volcanic eruptions, sure we have plenty of those, but few have ever done so much damage that it caused world wide climate change, it has happened, but it is extremely rare. And it is easily cleaned up by the Earth, considering its age. Perhaps a year or two is all it needs to wash away volcanic glass. But CO2 is different than volcanic glass in the sense that there is a lot more of it.

Man influence global warming is the same. That's only happened what... once?

i guess if you look at it from a different standpoint then we could be "speedig it up" but that would only be by a fraction of apercent, which could in turn have no effect in prolonging it.

Well, the problem is that we have increased the production of such gasses. That's the hypothesis, anyway.

The problem with Global Warming is that our timetables aren't long enough. See, we've only had accurate temperature recording equipment since the last century. Climates fluctuate in shifts from the Northern and Southern hemispheres. We don't know if this is just a high point before the temperature declines again.

i understand what you guys are saying, but here snaother one of mypoints- since we have so mucxh technology nowadays, were testing things and researching stuff like crazy, but since weve had the technology boom, people have been saying..ohh..the earth is gunna get hit by a meteor, or, oh, its gunna get blown up by a volcanoe, or, oh, global warming. but see, i think part of it to is that we have s much technology tht were getting ahead of ourselves. wouldnt you thing it would be kind of strange if right as we got the technology to predict a disaster then it would happen? i would think so too. anyways, its just an idea

Nor can we really predict the future trends in said weather phenomenon. Essentially we lack any proof for Global Warming being longterm or caused by man.

Nobody is saying Global Warming is going to sneak up on our doorsteps overnight and stab us in the throat. It's a process.

We're supposed to be stopping ourselves from accelerating the process. To say that we've done nothing but speed up the destruction of the planet is utterly undeniable, and anybody who says otherwise is a fool. (Or a Christian(the crazy ones))
