Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Okay i know this has nothing to do w/ anything on this site but i am desprete for opinions. My 6 year old male mini duchshund is having some back problems. It started last night when he jumped from the chair on our porch(He was asleep). He couldn't stop crying and whining so i brought him inside and put a blanket on the floor for him, soon he fell asleep. Well, about 20 minutes later he woke up and started to walk around and i put him outside and he seemed fine! He was eating and wagging his tail, he was happy. Then this morning it got a little worse, he came out of his dog house crying and shaking and his tail was tucked under, no doubt he was in pain. But when i got out of the shower i looked out my sunroom window to see him playing outside(no limp, shaking,or crying). I live on a 100 acre farm, so trust me when i say he gets plenty of excersice and he is not overweight. I went out in the yard where he was very happy to see me and we walked for about 20-30 minutes. He was romping and running and playing and enjoying himself. Do you think maybe it is just arthridus? He only whines when he has to get up from sleeping or lieing down. And it is rainy here which some say that makes arthridus worse. Please help me! Sincerly, Concerned Doxie luver. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | Well my mum used to work at a Vets and she would say try going to a vet, or getting pain killers, but if you get pain killers remember that it doesnt cure anything. 1ST REPLY YAY ![]() ![]() |

| Twilight Knight | Backpain is normal for dachshunds. ._.' Especially for one that old. You should probably go to the vet or something quick before it gets worse. |

| Banned | It's true. Back pains are common in the dachshund breed of dogs. Really, this isn't anything out of the ordinary. Like NU said, try going to a Vet and see what he / she says. If you want to take a look at it, this site might give you a few pointers as well. |
