Dating problems

being 13 can sometimes be hard.
I see that people around me are entering "relationships"
but I know they aren't meaningfull ones. It would appear that that what people my generation think is a "boyfriend" or "girlfriend" is really just someone who is a close friend. Holding hands or walking arm in arm, it seem just like a friendship from the outside, and to me that's what it is.
people might say "OMG, you've never had a girlfriend?!" as if they're suprised. they shouldn't be though, I should be more suprised that 13 yr old people are "dating"
On to that now, what kind of date can someone my age go on? no money,job or car. I know some people who tell me
"Have your mom drive you and [insert girl here] to the movies"
or something along those lines.At this point, it just two or more friends seeing a movie, not a date.Plus it might be pretty sad/pathetic/embarassing
"Hey you gonna go to a movie?"
"Sure"
"OK, my mom and I will pick you up at 7."
would you dare say that^ to ask someone on a date?

There is a girl in my class I like though I can't be completly sure if its a crush, love or anything else. I haven't got time to worry about that. So we'll flirt a little, She'll talk with me and vise/versa. We'll chat online and joke. and I hope we can become better/closer friends, that's enough for me at this point.I don't need to be dating right now

edit:Even if we were to go on a date, were's a 13yr boy supposed to take a date to, and by what means of transportation, really;it's just ridiculous

ummm that's not really a problem is it? Though yes I do beleive SOMEONE in the relationship should be 16 at least.

I totally agree with you SS, someone should be 16, that way they can drive...or they could have an older brother/sister....But I wouldn't advise you to go look for a 16 year old girl to date...because I don't want you to get shot down...because that would rarely be a good scenario...

That really does depend on your parents now doesn't it? After all if your parent's are failry laid-back and cool then I wouldn't be too worried about it. But if you have parent's like mine then you will never EVER bring your date to the house, let your family see them, or EVER EVER let them drive you ANYWHERE!!!!!


P.S. Stavros don't agree with me because that puts you in the right, I somewhat dsoubt you would have turned down someone NOT 16 in fact there was a certain creepy vegetarian wasn't there?

This was meant to be a rehetorical question.
anyway I've gotten confused now by comments about being turned down, some1 being 16 etc
so even if it wasn't directed twords me, here's wats up

1.She's my age(in my class,duh!)
2.Not sure of the level on attraction(ie:crush,love etc)
3.Can't date until 16
4.Don't want to date until 16

Are Taxi's even allowed to drive someone who isn't an adult/accompanied by an adult around? Just a wierd question.

That also depends on where you live, say if you lived remotely close and in a small town, walk places. If you live in a city and have a lot of money, take a taxi, if you're cheaper take a bus.

I never said that, I said that in most relationships someone should be 16, you can date before that, but if you're 16 you can drive and you don't have to mess with your parents...

Also it wasn't a month ago, it was at least two months(Two month anniversary yesterday).
