Default Lights Out

Something of a medical question, but hell, post if you don't know a scalpel from your sister's used tampon (In my case, they're the same thing. My sister's a bitch of extreme ice cold temperatures.) A different perspective can only help. Lately, I've been having what I guess you'd call blackouts. I've actually blacked out twice in the last month, one of them being yesterday. At a mate's place, I answered the door for him while he was at work, chatted to the guy there for about a minute, and then just 'felt' something moving in on the edges of my vision. I vaugely remember the sensation of my limbs shaking uncontrollably, then the next thing I know, I realise someone's calling out 'Hey, mate, you alright?' and find myself in a strange house with a stranger standing over me. Took another minute or two before everything came back to me and I remembered where I was. Often, I feel the start of one, but usually they're (Whatever they are) not strong enough to knock me out like this. I've consulted my doctor about this, and he seems utterly mystified, and essentially took an hour to tell me that he didn't know what it was and to come back if it happens again. Basically, I'm hoping that someone will offer me advice or a new perspective that helps solve the problem. As you can imagine, it's kinda inconveniant collapsing on the spot. This time it was only in front of one person, but if it keeps happening...

Sounds like you're having mild seizures. You could ask for an EEG or an MRI to show any abnormal activity. Have you had any head trauma lately? Family history of epilepsy? These are things that should be mentioned to your doctor (who was totally wrong for not referring you to a specialist. Blacking out randomly is never a good sign).

do you also have random moments where you lose vision for a few secs and then regain it.

lick you black out for just a moment?

it could easily be that you are not hydrated enough. thats often the case with me
