| Banned | good deal or not? my sister has a cat, and it's big and fat. but we've come upon an offer of a maltipoo and poodle mixed doggie.. it's 10 months.. i was wondering.. if it would be too hard to have a doggie [iv never had one, but my sister has before i was born].and if the fat cat and doggie would get along. also, if that breed/mix of doggie drops a lot of hair.. cuz i have allergies, but w/ the fat cat it hasn't been much of a problem since i never pet it much. well i use to a lot but my allergies acted up again, so this time i pretty much stopped holding him and shit. but i want to know more about maltipoo/poodle doggies. and do doggies really poop and pee anywhere? it's 10 months youngin, and pretty small. soooo idkk. |

So long as this dog hasn't been trained by it's previous owner to chase or attack cats, it'll likely merely be cautious of the cat initially, and then grow to accept it in short order. Your concern shouldn't be the dog, but the cat. Dogs are excitable, fun-loving animals. Cats are lazy, irritable animals. Chances are your puppy's gonna get a few scratches on his nose when he tries to play with the cat. That, or the pup may scare the cat away. Ideally, if you want a dog and cat to get along, you should get them both at a young age so they grow up around one another. In situations like this were one animal is already fully developed, that's usually where the problem will come from. |

and the doggie is 10 months. i wanted it to be younger..like maybe even a newborn and stuff, but i don't know shit about doggie developments. the fat cat has gotten along w/ this baby newborn kitten once, and it acted really protectingish [AWWW SO CUTE!! it carried it on it's back once!! X) and then like once it grabbed it by it's neck like mommy cats do w/ baby cats to grab them, and it grabbed it's neck and put it to the side before walking outside of the house] but i don't know how it'll act w/ doggies. my cousin brought her doggie here once.. and the doggie was like..idk, mediumish? but the doggie and fat cat didn't get along at all. >~> how young is a 10 year old doggie? is it like..a baby still? or like...idk.? i like doggies more than fat cat though. :O and the fat cat drops a lot of hair that gives me allergies >~> grrr. | |

| Member | Uh, don't quote me on this, but I think about 10-12 years is the average life expectancy for dogs. That's in human years, of course. So by 10 months to a year, they're pretty much out of the 'baby' stage. As I said before, the cat is likely to be the problem if you get the dog, however, it may only not get along with older dogs. There's a chance if you allow them to get accustomed to one another they'll get along. The kind of breed you're after, Maltese Poodle? That's essentially a toy poodle, right? They won't grow very but, but they tend to be especially excitable, especially if they don't get a lot of physical attention, which may be a problem for you with your allergy. The cat won't appreciate an excitable, bored puppy at all. |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() ![]() Level: 31 EXP: | If it's a pup, you'd be surprised just how well it'd get along with other animals. Just depends on how the cat reacts. And cats are fickle creatures, they can be happy one day, and murderous the next. O.o Anywho, puppy'll be fine, get some training mats and teach it to go on those until it can be potty trained to go outside. The cat is completely dependent on it's temper. |

| Been there, destroyed that. | Young dogs always get along with other animals. It might piss the cat off a few times, but if you train it right and like yell at it to not piss the cat off, it won't do anything. |
