| Organization Member | Whenever I'm on my computer it's always the same problem, some sites don't work. For example: deviantArt (only get half the page),Newgrounds,Wikipedia, etc. I got Windows Vista, and everytime I go to these sites it's super slow or doesn't work. How can I fix this problem? ![]() |

| ⎳ΣGΣNDΛRΨ | Here's something that should help you. Get Mozilla Firefox 3.5 And install the add-ons Flashblock and Adblock Image They'll help block things and make your browsing a lot faster, namely removing the annoying advertisements. If you want to view a YouTube video, there'll be a button to press to allow it to show and play. Then, once you've imported settings from Internet Explorer, or set them up yourself, type in the adress bar about:config and proceed until you've come to a list of options. In the filter at the top, type in 'pipe' and in the following list, alter the options to as follows: network.http.pipelining - true network.http.pipelining.maxrequests - set this to a high number, somewhere between 30 and 50 depending on the grunt of your computer. network.http.pipelining.ssl - true network.http.proxy.pipelining - true These things will help to speed up your browsing, but there's a bit more you can do. Still in about:config, go to the filter and type in: 'network.http.' and adjust the following settings: network.http.max-connections - set this to a nice and high number, somewhere in the fifties or above, I'd recommend. network.http.max-connections-per-server - I'd keep this below fifty, to avoid lagging the server you're on. network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy - put this at around 10-20 network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server - also between 10-20 network.http.request.max-start-delay - and set this to zero. Hope that's simple enough for you, it's definitely sped up my browsing a ton on a computer I thought would be unable to reach such speeds. |

| Don't be afraid to go too low | Yeah, do that and it'll fix everything. Or don't use shitty Vista AMIRITE? And shouldn't this be in Technology? |
