I would say go for it. Not right away, though. Quite frankly, I'd use this as an opportunity to get back at my ex-gf if I was in your position, although I'm not sure if you're into that kinda thing, lol... o.o

Anyway, yeah like I said. If you aren't ready yet, I wouldn't jump right into it right away, but try to drop your friend some signals and hints about how you feel about her. Kinda fuel the situation's fire so that if and when the two of you start dating you can start really strong. And I wouldn't worry about 'rebound dating'. If you really like her, like you do than I don't think there should be any problems about that. Anyway, I hope all goes well for you. Good luck. =D

I advise you to tell her before you leave. After you make sure you aren't on a rebound. You yourself said that you're trying to get rid of the rep of being a rebound type of person, maybe she's just a rebound girl and maybe you're mainly interested because you know she's interested in you. ^_^

Well good on ya'! Much respect for that. Just try not to linger your thoughts on this girl, and move on. I know that might be easier said than done but someone has already (well for the most part.) given you the opportunity to do that. :D I take back what I said earlier, and I agree with what Gun said. You know that she likes you, so what's the worst that could happen if you make the first move? =\ The fact that she's shy I think means that she kinda needs you to make the first step because she probably won't, lol. I mean... You'll never know what happens until you try... right?
