well I'm not feeling it. The left effects don't look that appealing and the tag doesn't look good on the right. it feels out of place. The colors are kinda monotoned.

I disagree, i like the effects on the left. I also like the lighting in this, alot. My main problem is your stock, i don't think it's a very nice position and it's not very clear. Also, the colour is quite monotone, like alot of mine lol xD

right is wonderful, leave it at that.
but from the center to the left, I'm not quite sure what I should be looking at. There's the stock, then that nice effect on the far left, then some text in between. I would move the effect on the left closer to the center, and rotate it so that it flows in the same direction as the stock. after that I think the text would be pretty unnecessary. I make it a general rule not to use text unless it's properly incorporated into the piece. The way you have it now makes it seem like it was just put there because you didn't know where else to put it.

But uh, fix that up and it's pretty ace. Work on colours a bit, too, though.

I'm sure i'm not the only one thinking that this would be awesome stockless. V1 colourwise FTW, and this is easily your best piece. Maybe remove some of the foreground (such as the waved line) on the left, along with the text (and ideally the stock, it doesn't especially integrate well imo) and then it'd be marvellous. The right is superb as it is though...
