RiP, that tag looks like it's unfinished. It looks like decent smudging, but the colors are ugly, I'm just not liking them. Also, the stock needs to be blended more, it almost looks slapped on.

Also, V2 of my earlier tag. Added a bit more color, shrpened it a bit, made it brighter, and got rid of the annoying stuff on the side.

Hm... I suggest refraining from using the word ugly when giving CnC.
I also disagree with most of the "critique" you gave.
Suggest some less "ugly" colors for me please and what could be done to make it finished.

Well depends on what color scheme you want, I'd say, a color from the stock. Blue, and yellow-ish aren't very appealing.

Also, I take that back about the slapped on part, I notice now that it was blended a bit. I also notied you kinda have some Floating Head Syndrom going on there. Maybe just a little.

My biggest concern in this tag is the text.

I normally don't like to say the word never, but you should really never use stroke on text.

Another text tip is that using more solid, basic fonts looks nicer than downloaded, fancy fonts. You also want the text to naturally look a part of the tag and not just slapped on. You want to experiment a bit with the text such as playing with the angle or size.

An example of good text is this.

See how the text's color and position goes perfectly with the tag? I'm not saying that you have to restrict to having angled text, you just have to experiment and see what looks good. You should never have to have five minute slapped on text because text is a lot more important in tags than you would think.

Another concern: color.

The color theory you're trying to pull of here should be working better but it isn't. The desaturated bright blue doesn't look very good with the random vector shapes in yellow that are way too simple. If you can't do good vectors I would just avoid vectoring shapes completely.

Also, the random red you stuck in there does not look too great. If you had some green tones to complement the red parts in the tag it would look a lot more pleasing to the eye.

Well I hope I helped :p you're really improving and it's nice to improvement and more variety that you're showing in your tags.

That yellow spot in upper left isnt actually vector, it's a solid spot with a hard round eraser to both sides.
And yeah, I was gonna use a gradient for the text instead but I didn't want to take the time to play with the gradient settings. I actually tried to use a little bit of green in that tag with a couple more circles but I guess I should have added more of it. I'll be experimenting with a few more styles all tonight too, so expect some more crappy tags out of me. ;)
(lol now that I actually have Photoshop again I can work on this kind of thing, it feels kinda good.)
