I do agree that Sega's been in a slump since SA1 and 2 when it comes to sonic, but it wasn't all bad. I think Sonic Next Gen was pretty good, and I enjoyed Rush Adventure.

As For Sonic Unleashed, I'm not really keeping my hopes up. I'm looking more toward Sonic Chronicles being able to revive the franchise.

It would be rather ironic for Sonic Chronicles, an RPG spinoff, to revive the franchise, considering the complaints that Sega just can't stick to the original formula and make it work.

I'm not saying it can't or won't, just think of it as amusing. Anyways, yes, nowadays Sonic sucks. The old games were godly epic. So much fun.

I guess I'm one of the few freaks who enjoyed it, huh? =/

Still, I'll probably never get the reason why Sega constantly feels the need to add new stuff *coughwerewolf* to the normal formula.

The reason I don't think sega makes good sonic games is because they don't try anymore. Have you ever noticed that all their games hardly have better graphics then game before? Like nintendo. Now compare Mario from the n64 to gamecube to wii(not including Mario&sonic). The graphics change drastically. Now compare sonic from dreamcast, gamecube then 360. Dreamcast and gamecube were basically same. The 360 had some what of good graphics but sure those could probably been used a wii as well. Sega really doesn't put much effort. They like to repeat their work. Also gameplay, you can tell they hardly test the game for glitches, or how FUN it actually is.
Eh you guys understand?

A few of my friends actually enjoyed playing the game since they're hardcore fans of every Sonic game, but the Shadow game is one of those love or hate games there's really no in between from what I've seen.

True, seems the 2D Sonic titles nowadays are the only ones who get the rep they deserve. Though Sonic Unleashed might probably do the sama, I doubt the Werewolf idea will get it that far.

And as everyone else, I rather consider Sonic Chronicles as a spinoff that should not be involved with the main Sonic games nowadays too much. Still looking forward to it, though.

Either you love the guns or you hate em.

I hated em.

But the references to Sonic Adventure two in both levels and story made the game for me. =]

Yeah the guns were a really bad idea to have since they would auto lock on a certain enemy with no way of changing it.

The other things that bothered me were the camera and Shadow's poor since of movement since he would always seem to speed up whenever you were near a cliff and it always seemed like he was walking on ice.

True, I'll never get how they came up with the idea of guns in a Sonic game.

I never really had that much of a problem with the camera, since it was adjustable to a certain extent with the C-stick (contrary to SA2). About the controls, I actually thought it was a huge improvement over the movement in Sonic Heroes.

My guess is that they wanted to take the series to a more edgier side lol see how that whole thing turned out, and Shadow cursing just about every time he would fall off a stage and die and getting hit from time to time didn't make things any better either.

This actually...looks pretty damn good.

Seems like they're copying Sonic Rush in terms of gameplay a lot, which can't be a bad thing.

Now if you could just convince me that the Werewolf idea is a good one, I'd actually be pretty psyched.

It actually starts to look pretty fricking sweet. I just might have to take all the werewolf nonsense. But I'm gonna wait until I see some vids of werewolf gameplay first.

I'm actually impressed.

Sonic never looked that impressive before. Dare I say it, but this might actually be better than both SA1 and SA2.

The speed, that's how fast I expect Sonic to be. Welcome back, blue blur. =D
