Super Mario Sunshine Help

Ok, I decided to start playing Super Mario Sunshine. And as boring as it is, I want to complete it before I trade it in. But I'm stuck with this one part.

FYI* I checked online also, strategy guides on GameFaqs.

I completed Episode 8 in the Lighthouse Level, and now after I came out, it showed this ray of light shooting up to sky. What do I do there? Or can I even access it yet?

If it helps. I dont switch worlds or anything until I completed Episode 8 in each one.

I don't even know what you're talking about kinda, but if by ray of light you mean the thing in delfino plaza, then go into the light (lol), press Y and look at the sun. If I'm wrong then Wtf you talking about.

The damn message on the bottom calls it a ray of light. What other ray of lights shoot up to the sky in the game? Located in the middle of the town in front of the dolphin statue?

you look up to the sky when your in the middle of the light and it will take you to the next place
