Cloyster is mainly a defensive Pokemon but I'd have one either way in fact I prefer both Poliwrath and Cloyster over Kingler.

I cannot find a freaking Krabby anywhere.

Where are some places to find them in FR?

EDIT: I found one, I was using the super rod instead of the good rod.

Krabby in Fire Red? Hmm... You tried near Cerulean? I think there's some around there... Has you tried varying the rods you use? Cos they only catch on to certain ones

According to Bulbapedia they're found at: Cerulean City, Vermilion City, One Island, Three Island, Four Island, Five Island, Six Island, and Seven Island, Routes 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 21, and 24.

Oh lol I didn't see it at the time =PP. But its official I've fallen into the Pachirisu cuteness trap which has me now training one, plus I needed its Pickup ability anyway.

Btw Kingler has better Attack,Speed, and HP than Cloyster

He also has better Attack, Defense, and Speed than Poliwrath :D

I can understand those stats about Cloyster since its main strength is in its Defensive skills rather everything else is kinda a in worse case scenario ones but aren't really reliable.

But really there isn't anything wrong with Krabby/Kingler its just another one of those types that I don't necessarily train too often is all.

I may on down the line but at the moment I already have a main Water type Milotic and a backup Golduck, it would've been Gorebyss instead of Golduck but no Wi-Fi = failure to get one not to mention I still haven't found a Deep Sea Scale yet.

Has Slowpoke been discussed yet? One of the best Pokemon imo...It can learn Slack Off in Gen IV...! Slowbro = defensive awesomeness in the right hands.

Poliwrath is excellent, but should be used defensively first, as it's speed is somewhat lacking.

Starmie's always a prime candidate.

Gyarados is often a heavy favorite; if you can get at least one Dragon Dance off, you're gold.

Kingdra's typing FTW.

Lanturn's typing allows it to be one of the few Pokemon to resist the BoltBeam (Thunderbolt, Ice Beam) moveset (another is the amazing Pokemon family Magnemite/Magneton/Magnezone).

Marill/Azumarill's actually not too shabby. Thick Fat gives it the extra defensive prowess, but Huge Power is the ability to gain. Subpunching, Waerfall Azumarill will stall well enough

The number of water types obviously outnumbers a lot of types combined. Enjoy dabbling

Poliwrath is a beast. I also like Kingdra and Lanturn.

Do we ever talk about Fire types on this?

From time to time we do but it hasn't really been a major topic that we talk about. Ninetails and Arcanine are my other most sought after Fire types but you'll know my situation.

Fire Types huh...i noticed that there isnt a lot of fire types...considering they only had 5 total fire types in the Sinnoh Dex(BEFORE NATIONAL DEX)(Chimchar,Monferno,Infernape,Ponyta,and Rapidash)and Flint of the Elite Four only had 2 due to this and had to make his team dieverse with other types...>.>



Has anyone noticed if you get a shuckle in pokemon D/P and train to LVL 100 and if it has power trick wouldn't it be the #1 strongest pokemon in the game? -.- lol it would have...about 600 Attack...>_<
