Zelda : Orcarina of Time

I found Wind Waker to be an excellent game. If you ignore your own insecurities about playing a 'kiddy' game, you see how very detailed and life like the game's graphics really are.

When I first played Wind Waker, the first thing that came to my mind was how life-like everything was. The swaying of the grass to the wind, the waves in the ocean, the birds, the clouds, the caves. Everyhting aobut it was brilliantly done

Windwaker even added a little somehting to the combat system of Zelda, with the parrying feature and the various uses for weapons.

Anyone who hates Wind Waker because it's too different from the Zelda they're used to, shouldn't consider themselves a fan of Zelda for being so ignorant

1. I don't think Nintendo wants that to be canon anymore. They even cut the "she is your..." line from the GBA version of A Link to the Past.

I heard that the Japanese version of the SNES release had "destiny" as the last word in that line.

Zelda 1: Ganon's a big blue pig, so it's as cartoony as they could get with the graphics.
Zelda 2: Just look at the game over screen.
LttP: Cartoony graphics, oversized heads, blue pig Ganon & Link has PINK HAIR!!! Wind Waker has nothing on this game.
LA: Cartoony, oversized heads, a villiage fun of Loony Toons rejects.
OoT: You play as a kid for half the game.
MM: Play as a kid for the entire game.
OoS/OoA: LA's graphics recycle

Ocarina of time in my opinion, is the best Zelda Game ever. It was and is so revoulutionary and so much fun u cant help but love it. This thing was amazing when it came out and still is today. Ocarina of Time And Super Smash Bros. are the only reason i keep my 64 plugged in to my tv.

Anyway moving on have they ever added in a voice for link? all i ever get from him is the sound of him screaming, slashing, or when he is startled.
When hes talking to people they say something like " you say, your from the forest to the south?" or something like that. They should add in a voice for Link in twilight princess if they dont i can understand how they want you to feel more like the character himself. So have they ever or will they ever add in a script and voice for him?

I thought it was cool the fact that they added in a horse in a game that doesnt include barbie.

Link doesn't need a voice. Hell, voices aren't even necessary in a Zelda game. The characters already have plenty of personality and life, and we never hear them speak. What would be the point of having voice overs when you could easily express their emotions visually...you know, one the things The Wind Waker did so well.

Here's a novel idea. Let's not put voice overs in a video game. Sure, they sound great when they're used correctly, and can sometimes be one of the reasons why you play the game. However, for every "Legacy of Kain", "Jak", and "Metal Gear Solid", there are dozens and dozens more of games like "Mega Man 8", "Lunar", "Neo Contra", and "Shenmue" (that's right, Shenmue).

Video games don't need voice overs, anyway. I'm sick and tired of reading reviews in which they bitch about how a game doesn't have voice overs. Just because Final Fantasy does it doesn't mean that it should become a standard of the genre. The worst part is when they pan a game like SMT: Nocturne, because it doesn't even bother with voice overs. However, Nocturne has a much more interesting story than most RPGs on the market, even some of the Final Fantasy games. Is the game somehow incomplete because you aren't forced to listen to a wheezy priestess or possibly the most annoying female voice ever? I would much prefer to have the characters come to life through good writing and dialogue, as opposed to hearing a f***ing Backstreet Boy voice a villain in effort to add personality. Then again, I'm just weird like that.

I'll take the bait. You can't possibly mean Shenmue would be a better game without voices? Shenmue was 90% production values, a next-gen technological showoff at the time, and that is part of its charm.

I realize that. The point I was trying to make with the inclusion of Shenmue is that most voice overs just aren't very good. Just imagine how much more enjoyable Shenmue would be with good voice acting.

Nah, not really. Nothing beats the not-so-subtle shifts in the pronounciation of Ryo (Rio, Rey-o, Dee-yo (What?! It's in there), Ri-yo, et.c.), or the voice of Goro and others. Hell, I'd go as far as to say that Terry of Yokosuka's voice is better than the japanese original.

Personally, I agree that this is an awesome game, though it's IMO second- best of the Zelda series. (First being Majora's Mask) Wind Waker I never really cared for; yeah, almost all of the other games in the series looked kiddy to some extent. but Wind Waker was just over-the-top for me. And that's coming from someone who adores Pokemon XP.

The shadow temple was kinda tough. Personally though I found the forest temple to be more confusing, but that was just me.

The one temple I loved more than life itself though: The Spirit Temple! The Spirit Temple was fun, looked cool, had a fun boss, and was easy enough to where you dont get frustrated by it. If you ever get bored, just go back to Ocarina of Time and redo the Spirit Temple, it'll definently help. :)

You know what? I'm really f***in tired of people talkin sh!t about Majora's Mask. That game really wasn't as bad as people say. It was a good game. Not quite up to Ocarina of Time of course, but still a good game. Besides, can you honestly tell me it wasn't badass turning into a Goron or a Zora? And let us not forget the absolute badass of the entire Legend of Zelda franchise: FIERCE DEITY LINK!
