Considering purchasing a new fighting game, is UMvC3 faster in pace compared to SSF4? I like my fights fast.

As I quote somebody on GameFAQs, which is usually a dumb move, I agree with this. It went along the lines of
SSF4 = Chess
SF X Tekken = Basketball
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 = Freeway Dodgeball
Very fast, very fun. I'd recommend watching Jago's baby tutorials on the series, easy way to start out. The game takes time to get good at and learn the basics of though.

Sounds about right since most SSF4 tournament videos I've seen are all about who's the more patient, and while that's not bad, I want a game to be very fast and action-filled.
Is there any reason to get a 'new' copy compared to a used one, such as Capcom putting an 'online pass' thing for new copies like Mortal Kombat did?

All right I'll look up some videos and see what I can do.
Is the lore behind the game any good or is it just another way to cash in with fighter lovers?

If you care for story, there's about none. The endings are it, and those are just fanservice to everybody. Not bad fanservice, but yeah, this games story is just bare bones. It's about the only fighter I think I'll be sticking with for years after now though.

SF4 does have a story, just like the rest but, yeah it doesn't throw itself out there. You gotta actually research it to really grasp it.
So watched CEO matches with Daigo beasting with Ryu and I fell in love with SF4 all over again. Marvel had my attention but, Daigo jut made Ryu so beautiful. Wish he could have massacred Wong but, it's cool. He'll outshine him at EVO again....like every time. Idk what it is about Seth. I hate that character with a passion. He need more Ryu SRK to the face.
Also whoever has Marvel, SF4, and VF5 for PS3 then I should have all those games by next week. Definantly looking for matches.
So, I actually made a Phoenix Wright team. And no crap, I've landed "OBJECTION!" every match I played today online. I found a very weird way that somehow opponents NEVER seem to just rethink their strategy with and stop doing it. No kidding, it's literally:
>Match starts
>Keep backing away from your opponent
>Call Maya spirit shield as soon as the match starts
>Opponent typically runs up and starts attacking Maya shield to knock her down because you're usually gathering evidence
>Crouching Light, full air combo, once you land go into courtroom mode and use Nightmare Judge
Has worked EVERY time I tried it. If they Super Jump and use an air move, just get right where the hitbox for Maya's shield is and sit there, wait for them to land. Also, gather evidence while they're in the air, if only one piece. So proud of myself.
Team for PW is Phoenix Wright/Dante/Vergil
Dante for Anti-Air so people can't just superjump willy nilly over it by using Jam Session, lots of hitstun to gather evidence.
Vergil Rapid Slash, pulls the opponent fullscreen away from you if they block it correctly, pretty much helps you get people off of you if you're cornered(herp) and you can't get out of a the situation. Usually if you are cornered, do a full crouching combo even if it's blocked just to get Vergil out safely.
`V` I'm a lawyer everybody.

Switched to Akuma in 3S.
Gotta practice rushdown characters since I'm rockin' Akihiko in P4A.
Not gonna act like I know, but from what I've seen, isn't basically EVERYBODY rushdown in P4A?
Also wish we'd get a reveal for console characters, if there aren't any I'll be kind of disappointed. I know for sure I'm using Kanji though.

Compared to games like SF, I suppose. But as far as ASW games are concerned, there's play style variety.
True stuff. I've just recently been playing Persona 3, so I'm not sure who from that I'd play other than Aigis so far. Not that I don't like Akihiko, he just has very little mixup game in P4A from what I've seen.

How come every time I pick Akuma, people's character cursor runs straight to either Ryu or Ken -_-
