Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn!

I still have to go see the Grey Beards. Am I the only one trying to do every side quest before doing the main quest and moving to the next area/town? I really am taking my sweet time with this game.

I was doing that for a good while. Spent hours just going around, checking things out, exploring, etc. Then I finally decided I wanted to face a dragon, so I did a little bit of the Main Quest. Right now I'm currently saved up on High Hrothgar, just after meeting with the Greybeards. I wonder how long it will take for dragons to show now. It's going to make the world much more exciting with them just flying around wherever they please.

I accidentally leaped into the main quest, several of the side quests intermingled with the main (funny because I was going along with the Legion questline and got side-tracked). Spoke with the Yarl of Whiterun, a few things led to another and I was up against a scripted Dragon encounter with the guards and what's her face on my side. Visited the Graybeards and seared for that ruin, about 500 yards from the place I fought with an Ice Dragon. Hid between trees to duck that ice breath as I rained it down with arrows. Burned through at least half of my potions though.

I killed my first dragon at level 6 by bashing it with a sword until it died. You are clearly doing it wrong. :C

I fought a few dragons now and I still haven't met the Greybeards. Only problem is, two dragons I ran into just flew around and left without even caring about me. It's kind of hard to get their attention sometimes, even when you're firing arrows at them.

I tried that with my first dragon (I was like at level 15). It flames reduced my health to like 10% in one blow. So I had to do the arrow approach until it feel to the ground.

I always just hide behind a rock or something to protect myself from fire and attack when the dragon lands.

Holy crap as I was typing this a blood dragon attacked the college. first one I've seen, it looked pretty freakin sweet

I just let other people take care of the dragon for me. I saw this dragon fight this giant, so I just stood back and shot arrows from safety. Then the dragon died and the giant lived. After that, a sabre ran up to the giant and killed it, so I killed the sabre.

SO MUCH LOOT.

Yeah, Giants are awesome. Just don't touch their mammoths, nor touch them, and make sure you heed their warning before coming too close. When I see a mammoth horn on my map, I stay far, far away. Though, I'll have to kill a mammoth or find it's horn on my own to eventually to complete this quest (side).

Only reason I go after Giants/mammoths is to fill a greater/grand soul gem/Azura's Star to recharge my enchanted weapons when they run out.

Working on getting my smithing skill up atm, it's at 69 right now (heh). Goin for dat Daedric armor. Also, I swear the college courtyard is like a hotspot for dragon attacks. I've been attacked by three dragons there alone.

I'm hoping my style and level are perfected by the time I take on another Giant.
