Rented this game yesterday, and I'm having alot of fun with it. Law's easily my favorite character (I love his and Paul's Arcade ending), though I haven't quite found a good partner for him. For now, it's just Ken. I'm a little disappointed how unfriendly this game is towards controller players like myself (I don't play enough fighting games to warrant buying a stick). I have to press X,Y, and Right Bumper to do my super? Right, let me just go ahead and call the doctor and tell him I'll be getting Carpal Tunnel real soon.

Though it's a fun game (my favorite of any Capcom "vs" title), I'm with Joe on the amount of bullshit filled inside it. Probably won't actually buy it until a year or two from now when they release the ultimate edition or whatever the hell they come up with this time.

I've been using Akuma and Kazuya alot. Kazuya is an easier character to get into. I can link preety damn easy and fast with him. Not to mention his unique attacks are very good. I caught one dude in a frametrap the other night. Shit was god-like.

I'm sorry I just can't agree with Joe. Only time me and joe have agreed is with the Online Pass BS from EA. I hate online passes so much. I'm pretty sure there isn't gonna be an ultimate edition which is why we got DLC coming out for the next few months with each character.

(this isn't directed at you, quiteMAD.) I hate when dudes bitch and complain bout picking up this or any other fighting game but, cry so much about wanting to get competative with that game. Choke it up, buy the game and profit or else waiting for the next game, which may not come, will get you blown up later. Unless your that Jap dude from Final Round.

Honestly, after thinking about the gems, I'm pretty sure that only screws over Ranked matches, where sissy n00bs will use those cheap gems just to get higher on the ranking boards. The way I see it, I only care about getting to C Rank for the trophy, and once I get there, I'll be fine doing Endless for the rest of the game's history. If anyone in endless uses those gems, simply kick them from the game and send them a message that if they want to be taken seriously, don't use those gems :)

I fought a man last night who used the Auto Assist Gem for Heihachi and Kazuya. Me and my boy were on teams and we he noticed it first when the guy was spamming Heihachi's attacks which seem to be safe because I could not get in with Kazuya to smack the Heihachi player. Heihachi's loop is quite bullshit and I hate iI, but not the character. Also Rolento is a personal hatred of mine since he's broke.

So anyone having trouble connecting Kazuya's Mist Step or Jin's Special step into a viable combo? I can do the step with no probalem but, when used within a link then I have various problems getting it to connect.

Seems everybody has issues with the mist step motion. I personally couldn't do it, and when I learned to the thing I learned right after that was it's impossible to do in combos. Well, it's possible, it just seems impossible because it's a downright retarded motion. I like Jin except for that god damn motion. I'm playing Hwoarang now, and loving every minute of it.

Those steps are just ridiculous. I'm gonna try and learn Lili later. She's definantely top-tier in this game. I will love every moment of her.

Nah, dude, I know my limitations. I've loved fighting games my whole life, even remember when the first Tekken came out, but I suck at them. I usually have one rush character that I get good with, and stick with that. In MK it was Jax, in SC it was Yoshimitsu, and in this it's Law. But yes so hard on those people who are like me, but actually want to play competitively.

There won't be an Ultimate Street Fighter x Tekken if that is what Joe was stating because Capcom has announced that under their contract with Namco, they signed up for "1 game" which means that if they ever do make an Ultimate Street Fighter x Tekken, all the new stuff in that game MUST be released for the original version of the game. If they were to release an Ultimate SFxT with even 1 more stage, that is breaching their contract because technically, the two games are no longer equal, making them 2 different games. Same goes for TxSF when that does come out.

As for the Mist Step, I've heard people are having trouble with that, but I don't play Kazuya or Jin, I stick with my Chun Ling all day, and Ling actually is quite difficult to play. She has some ridiculous setups and techniques but I believe her cancels are much harder than mist step combos -__- Ugh...why do I have to like her so much????

Do as many trials as you can for Jin and Kazuya. Get to the combo parts with Mist Step, come back and give your opinion. I think they're probably some of the hardest things to combo into in this game, even above those 1 frame links.

Yeah i'm with Pinwheel on that. Links are one thing but, the mist step combos seem downright impossible.

What is it about Mist Step combos that are difficult? Isn't the motion just a slightly modified srk motion?

Forward, put the stick back to neutral, and then half of a quarter-circle. Which is actually much harder than it sounds for some ridiculous reason.

Oh, I know the problem you guys are having then. There were some similar concepts in KOFXIII (although those were related to buffering and tk'ing and things like that, not actual commands).

Yeah, you kinda just have to get used to letting go after that first forward before moving on to the rest of the motion.

apparently you can just spam the shit outta qcf. if i know capcom, then sfxtekken has some crazy lenient input windows.

A few people suggested doing that, it really doesn't work. You'll get a random one every now and then but yeah.

I'm not sure if you would call Xiaoyu's thing a link, it is more like a stance cancel or a charge attack dash cancel, depending on what move you want to use. I'll find a video if what you can do with it, but it is very hard to do O___O



If anyone ever has free time and can learn how to do this efficiently, I could always use suggestions O____O

I can ay for sure that the first combo involves her charge dash cancel to get those kicks in. I would think the other two would just involve timing the attack over and over again. Is that kick the charge attack?
