Yeah, Villen. It was a fun, but not nearly as substantial or memorable as the actual game. Same with the Catwoman DLC- it was fun, but not at all necessary. Still, I got the GOTY edition so I don't mind. They're fun distractions.

Yeah, you do need to move the camera around a bit, but I've never found myself (even when swarmed with like 40 enemies) in a position where I was unable to see around me. I've never been caught off guard from an enemy running off camera. You do need some control though, but that just comes with wanting even more fluidity. In and of itself, it's great.

That allow you to back out of beating up armored enemies so it seems odd that you still cannot do so with the ground takedown.

By the way, I'm still in the process of unlocking Riddler challenge maps but is there an infinite map like there was in the Asylum, ya know one that never ends until you die? The closest thing I could find to it in Arkham City is the Joker's fun house but that still has a timer based on that level system.
You can take do ground takedowns during fights. The only problem you have to deal with is timing. First off, if enemies are still around you and close enough, yeah you're gonna get knocked around. But when you're going for a finishing move, I can see what you might get locked on. The ability to break out of a punch you haven't landed yet in order to counter is pretty good though. At times when learning the combat mechanics I had some difficulties getting used to when I should hit and counter, but it's really not bad at all. As for the ground takedowns, they destroy your combo counter anyway. So while you can ground takedown an enemy if others are far enough, you may not want to do that. That said, as you level up and unlock more abilities, you get a couple of moves that let you take out enemies on the ground without destroying your combo count (if i remember correctly). Either way, as your combo gets to 5 or 8 you can take down enemies on the ground without sacrificing your safety or combat abilities.

And I haven't done but maybe two challenge maps- stealth ones at that- so I'm sure about that.

I have learned to adapt and not even attempt the ground takedown, mostly just by moving from one enemy to another and not dwelling on a single enemy. I was surprised to see that I could drop an armored enemy by coming around to him multiple times instead of just trying to stun them and drop them in one move because as we have said, it's all based on your timing.

As you mentioned, there are a couple gadget upgrades I unlocked tonight that can stun every enemy around me and a group takedown as well but I still have to practice with that one.

As of now, what's everyone highest counter? I've gotten to fifty with Robin in the challenge map where the Joker makes you fight all those henchmen. Very exhilirating fight since there are so many guys. I believe it was the highest difficulty. I've gotten timing down perfect especially when the counter sign is gone.

I did manage to find an infinite map in the challenge collection, it is the Iceberg Lounge VIP Room in the Downloaded Maps section, very fun.

In the above mentioned room playing as Catwoman I got to x137 hits but that of course includes that beatdowns on armored thugs.

The highest I ever got was x150+. It was on that Joker challenge map.

Well in Arkham City I beat Zsasz a short amount of time ago. That means that every sidequest except for the Riddler stuff is done. I am about halfway done with the Riddler assignments.

It's an amazing game, so glad I got it. Can't wait for New Game +

I definitely notice changes how each character fights, it's subtle, but you can't use the same methods with all four characters.

New Batman: Arkham Game Coming This Year - IGN

Not sure how I feel about this. At this point, I feel like a new entry in the series should be on the next generation consoles.

It's not being done by Rocksteady, soooo either the new developer keeps the formula that they left behind or they diddly it up completely.

I have a feeling it's not Arkham 3. Rocksteady is working on "Silver Age inspired prequel involving the Justice League". We know that. But I can't imagine Warners actually making such a diddlyed up decision as to let another developer move forward on Arkham 3 (although I can).

I'm hoping this is more like Batman: Arkham Brotherhood if you get what I mean.

I think we may hear about the next game in the series sooner than we think.

The Batman: Arkham Asylum Facebook page was deleted, and Arkham City's page name was changed to just "Batman: Arkham". They may just be cleaning stuff up, but my gut tells me otherwise.
