HEARTPOUNDINGLY AMAZING GAME WITH AMAZING SETPIECES, but not as perfect as Uncharted 2 was. Uncharted 2 was just glorious in the story/characters, but here it felt a bit underutilized. It also didn't have as much polish in its parts as a whole, and the pacing dragged in a couple of paces, which really surprised me compared to the impeccable inhale that was U2's campaign all the way until the last breath.

Well here's what Naughty Dog had to say about it.
A look at gun mechanics in single-player and multiplayer

It definitely feels very awkward at first and I had to play around with the sensitivity longer than I would have liked but my my biggest gripe regarding the gunplay is how enemies often don't react to being shot and will keep firing at you. Also they love flanking you from behind, often coming from off of the map so you had no idea they were even there.

I've also found that it's not as easy to pick ammo. Often I will go to roll over it to pick it up and miss it. Also you almost have to be standing still to reload.

You're really overselling how great the single player in U2 was

Just beat the game in 8 hrs, 25 minutes. Unexpected, yes. As good as Among Thieves? Unfortunately no. Don't get me wrong, it's still an incredible game, but U2 set a high standard for future Naughty Dog productions. My own personal feelings about the game are below.

    Good:
-Awesome villains in Marlowe and Talbot.
    -Story, plot, and themes.
    -Challenging, never frustrating.
    -Unexpected.

    Bad:
-Glitches/bugs. While they didn't take away from the experience as a whole, they were still annoying as all hell. There was a time in Chapter 20 when I died because I somehow rolled into a crate and was stuck standing up, unable to move, roll, jump, or aim. But patches can fix that.
    -Aiming's a bitch.
-Marlowe and Talbot are never really explored and a lot of questions are left blank. (Cutter too, but I'll let him slide.) Additionally, Drake's relationship with Marlowe and his reasons for wanting to find Iram of the Pillars are never really explained.
-Among Thieves had a lot of memorable moments. Drake's Deception really only has a few: Sink or Swim, The Caravan (pretty much identical to the one from U2), and all of the last two chapters. I'm just saying, they weren't as numerous or as dramatic/climactic as events from U2.
-There's no way to view cutscenes? What? I'm pretty sure that was available in both Drake's Fortune and Among Thieves. Where did it go?
-It is never explained how Talbot came back to life after being shot. Or how he and Marlowe had Jin (a la the serum)
-Drake loses his necklace. I mean I guess it's a nice way to end it, but it's frustrating.

They can try to justify the broken changes but its still that: broken.

Also I hear aiming is better in MP. Havent played MP yet but I did play the beta and it felt right, just like U2. Single player though, my god what kind of testers did they hire?

To be fair, that was most certainty in U2 also, people had and have almost the exact same problems in U2.

But yeah they're working on the aiming, NeoGAF raised hell about and ND flew people to their studio to help them solve it. They're working on it, whining isn't necessary anymore.

The Uncharted series never really gave in depth background on much of the main villains; I hope this gets addressed in future installments. Roman was pretty much a cookie cutter bad guy, Navarro just picked up that role, and Zoran was the typical sadistic, psychopathic war criminal. Talbot just got on my nerves and Marlowe had more depth than all of the previous villains, however, a character such as her (her exact motives) should have been explained more, I definitely agree with you.

Additionally, Drake's relationship with Marlowe and his reasons for wanting to find Iram of the Pillars are never really explained.
Marlowe was tailing Drake because he had the ring, what she was after for 20 years. That tied her to him. Drake's reasons are probably an underlining concept. We can draw lines from what Marlowe says to him during the opening, she wonders what he's really afraid of, or from Drake's companions worrying about his unhealthy obsession of the treasure hunt. More details can be gained from the title of the 2nd Chapter, Greatness from Small Beginnings and of course, the facade Drake has been selling everyone. Drake may in fact be this demented, thrill junkie that wasn't exactly like the character we imagined him to be from the beginning.

    Marlowe had

That group was all into that special ops bullshit. I suspect Atlantis of the Sands had better, influential stuff I suppose.

Jin was definitely the most shittiest character that has been introduced in the series. What a shoehorn.

I was wondering this as well... And I believe they're talking about the Djinn. Ya know, the fiery demon things that possess the soldiers/ the thing trapped in the sealed jar Marlowe was trying to get out of the water. Although really, the fiery spirits were only Drake's hallucinations after he drank the water.

So I finished this earlier today, and aside from some mild confusion, I loved the game. Although I do kinda wish they went deeper w/ the whole Marlowe & Talbot thing, still not really sure what they wanted to accomplish by getting that jar...

Power. They were one crazy organization that wanted more and more power. What better way than mind control

The whole idea that Nathan Drake may not be who we think he is has me hoping for some continuation of the story in some way. The mentioning about a wedding ring teases the idea that Nathan and Elena are married and yet it is barely mentioned. I don't know, it just seems like the ending was too short, left way too many loose ends

Jin's not a character, its a spirit. Similar to the Descendants of DF and the Guardians of AT. It's the games special "twist."

Jin is a spirit that was locked in that brass thing at the bottom of the water in Ubar. The ring is Drake's wedding band. Apparently he and Elena were married and he walked out on her.

It really bothered me when Marlowe mentions in Yemen that Drake's real name isn't actually Drake. I feel like it was mentioned in Drake's Fortune as well, but still, I want to see him as the descendant of an explorer. And I felt the way they handled Drake/Elena's relationship was very artistic and well done. It didn't need to be explored that deeply to understand what happened, you just had to listen to their conversations, both in cutscenes and gameplay.

But yes, it did end rather abruptly, unlike U2. I was not satisfied with the ending. U2 kept you on the edge of your seat the whole time. U3 was much slower.
