Rep Power: 2 ![]() | For musicians: Rock Band and Guitar Hero are multi-selling games, but why? Want to play Guitar Hero or be a Guitar Hero? Want to play Rock Band, or be in a rock band? Do you think that these games interfere with learning talent, making people less interested in learning an instrument so you play a fake one? I play the guitar, and all my friends talk about Guitar Hero. I always say the time it takes to get good at that game, is the time it takes to learn the fundimentals of an actual instrument. Do any other musician feel this way. No haters please, nothing against the game, but i just want to see other's views on this. |

| kill it with fire | Rock Band and Guitar Hero are cheaper ways for people who feel the need to play an instrument to play. |

[2]If anything, they're getting more people involved with learning the instruments for themselves, it acts as Inertia for the wider spectrum. [3]Depends on the individual, Guitar Hero/RB has a very minimal learning curve in comparison to the real instruments themselves.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | No, I don't think that they are wrong. Sure, I play GH plenty, but that doesn't mean I don't play real instruments, either. I play tenor saxophone, which I know has nothing to do with guitar. But, hell, even if I wanted to learn a new instrument, I probably would learn piano, or something. The point is, no, it is not wrong. Plus, everybody at my school is impressed with people that are epic at GH. |

| Just Enough to Love You | It's fun the pretend! Anyway, for some, it may seem a BIT less intimidating for a five button guitar than a six string twenty-four fret guitar. Either way, you have to get used to strumming and moving your hands, so you best start somewhere. |

That is quiet laughable, but still the point is made. Also, most of the best Rock Band drummers out there are real drummers. People like HellsAshes, first to FC Jordan, is a phenominal guitar player, taking certain skills (my point being tapping) to make the experience so much easier.
