| BBS ftw! | Good for you. At least 360 customers got something worth their money when it comes to RPGs. But I am getting more and more sick and tired of both Square-Enix and even more of Sony. Did they ever hear of pleasing their customers? Sony -> What's up with all the RPGs? Or should I say, no RPGs? Square-Enix -> Bring out some goddamn Final Fantasy XIII informatioN! Which is why I'm expecting that FFXIII and vsXIII are going to be multiplatform. In fact, I would not be surprised if the XBOX360 will get FFXIII and vsXIII BEFORE the PS3, ending with it not coming to PS3 at all. Oh Sony and S-E are so transparent... Question is now: is this about money? Don't get me wrong, but wasnt everyone certain of Star Ocean coming to PS3, exclusive or not? As the Star Ocean saga was pretty much a Playstation saga (ok, aside from the fanboys, most magazines and other 'professionals' figured that it would be for PS3)? When first announced, no platform was named, but everyone kinda figured it would at least go to the PS3. And now we get to hear it's 360-exclusive?! That's weird. Especially regarding the fact that 360 has absolutely NO base in Japan, so they can scrap all the Japanese sales. What they have left is US and Europe. True, big market, though question is, big enough? For example, when I see Infinite Undiscovery, does my heart go wild? No it doesnt. Im thinking "meh, that's probably gonna be boring, not worth my 60 bucks." Last Remnant. Well, I never was a fan, though you never know. It still looks very chaotic to me and more like a filler-game for the bigger ones. HOWEVER, it is no filler-game anymore, as I always saw it as a filler for the PS3 fans who were so desperately waiting for FFXIII and vsXIII. Now that it's 360-exclusive at the moment, theres no reason for it to be a filler. Meaning my whole judgement on this game could be wrong. Star Ocean 4 seems like the biggest winner of the RPG bunch when it comes to US/EU sales. Still, I could be wrong, but werent the Japanese SO1/2/3 sales equal to US/EU combined? Lose/lose situation in my eyes. Unless MS payed S-E. I wouldnt blame them, dont get me wrong. (though I seriously think they need to start thinking about just forgetting about winning the Japanese crowd) S-E can use all the money they want for FFXIII if you ask me. ![]() Ne ways, long story short, have fun with those games. And Sony? No words are necessary... ![]() |

I do think its a little BS for any company too had info form us,(I can understand it's for hype but after a year or two share more info with us not just a little bit) It's also BS how companies make trailers but don't share with the pub for like years. Only way we get see them is there leaked. Quote:
But Tri-Ace had some say.. Quote:
It mean it's sad a few years ago Itagaki and Sakaguchi said MS needs a new marketing team.. Both MS ignored both of them, I mean there two biggest supporters.. They ignore, why the hell would you do that? Hopefully MS stops ****ing around.. The xbox will never win in Japan but could be doing like the PS3 is doing in the U.S. MS fanboys/girls blame Japan, well it's not there fault.. Hell people still believed DMC4 was a PS3 only title and stores still had PS3 only posters up in Japan..

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | F*ck Square Enix, I'm beggining to lose my patience with them, especially Wada, I hated the guy since he joined, only releasing RPGs for the PSP and DS. And f*ck Sony as well, why are they being so lazy only developing for the PSP, get of your arse Sony and do something. |

| ~Ichiban~ | Wow, claim down.. No need too get all fanboy.. This good news for gaming.. It means Sony isn't taking the JRPG market just like how MS isn;t taking the FPS market.. It's great news for 360 owners.. Now that we have more JRPGs, and more Japanese companies are looking at wordwide sells.. So do you blame them? |

| Keyblade Wielder | No you really can't blame them, gotta make a profit some how though they would have made more if it was on the playstation also. |

So we end up in a circle, where without investment in RPGs, there's no fanbase on playstation, and thus no reason for devs to put their RPG on the PS3 exclusive (or even at all). Thank Sony for that.

| I'm chocolate chip | It's interesting to note that this completely balances out Square Enix's support for both the 360 and PS3, everything's about even here. PS3 is getting support from the Final Fantasy Team with XIII and vsXIII, 360 is getting support of the Tri-Ace Team with Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean 4, and both of them are getting Last Remnant from a completely new S-E development team. Square Enix has kept to their word that they wished to support all consoles evenly. Now where do you think this leaves support for the Nintendo Wii, and perhaps where Kingdom Hearts 3 fits into this mix? : D |

| PSWii :))))) | I kind of understood the phrase "simultaneous world release" to mean "all territories, all platforms". The trailers should say "simultaneous release for 360, with simultaneous release for PS3 to follow". On a somewhat related note, the reason TLR might be taking so long is because S-E might want to pack in the FFXIII demo into the disc. Just my thoughts. |

| I'm chocolate chip | Nope, the word "simultaneous" in the term "simultaneous release" means the game is releasing in the 3 regions/territories (PAL, NA, Japan) in the same window of time, it doesn't mean multiple consoles. |

it was a good business move to appeal to the western audiences for S-E, but they are catering to the US market, which is more action games, not RPGs.
