Now honestly, I'm not a huge fan of most MUGEN games due to broken characters, mismatched sprites, general glitching, etc. but D Athier showed me a trailer for this game and it has me very excited.

Put simply, it looks amazing, both the gameplay and all the hand-drawn sprites. I really can't say anything that would top what the trailers show, so watch and see what you think.

A demo is supposedly planned to be released in the near future, but has been delayed due to the time it takes to make backgrounds. Honestly, I say use the shitty MUGEN backgrounds for the first demo and let us focus on how great the gameplay is. Save your own backgrounds for the next beta, please the fans with what you have now.

My only concern about this game is, well, the fact that it's MUGEN. Sure the sprites are gorgeous and it looks amazing, but if it is unbalanced and crashes a lot, that can really ruin the fun. However, it seems to me that a lot of effort is being put into this, so hopefully the developers will care enough to minimize any issues the game might have.

Anyway, here is their site, so keep an eye on the updates if you are as eagerly anticipating this game as I am. Seeing as how it will be using their Card Gallery style, check out said Gallery, see all the characters there and cross your fingers for your favorites to make the cut. I went through the whole thing earlier this morning and let me say, I'm going to need a lot more fingers.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to the game as a whole, but there definitely some characters I'm especially hoping for.

This is made with MUGEN, so it's PC based, and pretty much freeware.

That's probably the biggest thing that makes MUGEN games popular: the ability to put whoever the hell you feel like in the game, assuming of course you are capable enough to do so. Unfortunately, that is also probably the only reason they are popular, as most MUGEN games are less than stellar due to reason I mentioned in the OP.

I don't think I've ever seen MUGEN game this detailed. Thanks for bringing this up, seems like an interesting little project.

I guess they're making the characters, movesets, stages, screenpack, etc. all from scrap, aren't they?

Yeah, they are doing a lot of it from scratch. According to D, the sprite artist is AbyssWolf, who you may or may not know for making sprites of all the Brawl characters as each of them were revealed on the Dojo. They are also doing their own backgrounds, being why the demo was delayed.

What made you think it was for the Wii? Don't you think the inclusion of characters from various games show that it's not a commercial game? I mean, Master Chief is in the game. He's definitely not going to be on the Wii...

But no, it is PC freeware.
