Default Official Metal Gear Solid Discussion Thread

With the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid 4, the series is clearly becoming a commonly discussed topic. I suppose it would be better to discuss it in a seperate thread, as opposed to the PS3 topic.

This topic is for discussing anything from the Metal Gear Solid series, including Metal Gear 1 and 2.

So, to begin a discussion, did anyone get their hands on the Essentials Collection? I got it on Thursday, and I finished MGS3 two days ago. I was dissapointed at the lack of disk 2 and 3 of Subsistence, but I suppose it isn't a big deal.

Unfortunately, no. They were on one of the extra disks that came with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, but they left the bonus disks out. You can still play them if you have the full MGS3S though.

If you have a PS3, you can play all 3 Metal Gear Solid games using internal memory cards. On a PS2, you would need a ps1 memory card, because MGS1 is on PS1.

IMO, Twin Snakes is wayyyy easier than the original MGS1. The graphics are slightly "eh" annoying on MGS1, but the Essentials Collection is a great deal worth buying, considering what you get for the price.

Personally, I'd try to get the special versions of the games. I.E. Twin Snakes, Subsistance, and Substance.

What's this DVD I hear of?

Still no news on MGSaga or MGO beta for PAL. :C
