Default "Elite" 25th Anniversary

The most influential game you've never heard of has just turned 25 years old.

Elite is one the earliest games to showcase an open-ended world for the player to explore. The player assumed the role of a small but armed trading ship to gain riches and glory. This could be done through anything from trading to bounty hunting and even to piracy. With the new-found resources players could buy upgrades for their vessel such as better weapons, better shielding, greater payload capacity, or auto-docking. Hell, the player can even harvest stars for fuel if they are foolhardy enough.

I'm pretty sure none of you have a BBC Micro or any of those other older than dirt computers, so I figured you'd want to know about a new sequel in the works, Elite 4 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It's been rumored that the game is pure vaporware at this point, since it's been in development for a good decade.
