Starting online is the exact same as going into a new prestige. As long as you can play the game in general, you should be able to hold your own.
Yeah, but it definitely is tough going against people that play non-stop and know the maps by heart before you even have the chance to play on them.

You better hope you don't end up in a room with me then. :P

So like the worst thing happened to my friend last night, he got yellow light of death on his ps3, with just a few days before mw2.

Some small retail stores in NA and Europe have already sold several copies of MW2.
Anyone here got an early copy?

Nope, Amazon makes it difficult getting copies of the game early.

Oh, I don't know if I've asked this before, but what edition of the game are you all getting and for what platform?

Personally, I'm getting Hardened edition for the PS3?

Just reg edition for me, on ps3. I don't need cheap nvg goggles and the Gamestop near me was only offering reg or prestige edition.

Well whoever was uploading the walkthroughs finished. 4 hours 7 minutes total.
Bah. I know they have short campaigns, but that's even shorter than COD4s.

Well if it's as epic as what little I saw, should be worth it.

To be honest, I like Harry Gregson-Williams and Stephen Barton's OST in COD4 better.
This one's epic alright, but I'm starting to pick up on a common complaint I see with Hans Zimmer- all of his tracks sound the same. Or at least, too similar to make much of a distinction.

Most of the stuff that grabbed by attention, my first thought was, "But Gee, this sure sounds a lot like The Dark Knight/Black Hawk Down/The DaVinci Code/etc" So it was good, it just didn't seem fresh.
And Hans Zimmer never seems to create memorable notes aside from setting the general mood.

You could ask anyone to hum a John WIlliams theme, but I don't know about Hans Zimmer.

Then thank IW for rehashing maps in Muliplayer, I guess, because you'll already be mildly familiar with them.

Four hours and seven minutes? What?

Okay, I understand online multiplayer in first person shooter games is a lot more important than the single player campaigns these days but come on, at least make the campaign last for a while.

I'm getting the Prestige edition for the 360. :x Not my money, so w00t.

Been looking forward to this game quite sometime - and have been lurking on this thread for like a month aha. I'm mostly a gamer who plays story first then online, but I think I'll jump online for a bit before story simply because I want to play with some people first before it gets old.

I pre ordered it off of Amazon, which I've never done with anything before - does anyone know if I'll get it on THE day it comes out or will I get it two or so days afterwards because I ordered it online?

Are you freaking kidding me?

I've had MW2 fanboys complain to me about U2's short campaign.

LOL!

Depends on if you have Amazon Prime or what kind of shipping you ordered (overnight), you lazy ass.

I am a complete lazy ass.
Well then I'll probably get if a few days after because we don't have Prime nor does my family spend money on overnight. Ah well, aha.

Some retailers have already started giving them out. I have had my hands on a copy but I haven't been able to take it home yet. Blah. So instead I took out W@W to kind of get me back in gear getting used to the control scheme for CoD.

I'm pretty confident with my shooter skills these days. I mean even with W@W I played the campaign and finished it in no time, then online going on as a noob always playing with seven other people who are level 50 and 60 and I'm level 2, 3, 4, and I just reached 11 I think, just about each time I was in top 3. I gave it back anyway. I still think I'll play the campaign first then go ahead and try out the online.

Retailers like what? They're just selling them? Don't they have the release-date block things on their registers? :l
