If you're too lazy to watch a 30 minute video (it's really moving, I'd say you should), then here's a too long; didn't watch:

There's a guy in Uganda named Joseph Kony. He abducts children, makes the males into soldiers and the females into sex slaves. He forces the kids to mutilate and kill others, even their parents. He's done this to over 30,000 kids. The group Invisible Children Inc. convinced the US Government, who was against getting involved at first, to send 100 advisers there to help arrest Kony. The US Government is going to pull the plug on the mission because there isn't a large enough outcry from the US people to stop this guy. Kony is barely known about by anyone in the world. So, the goal here is to make Kony famous so that people do care, in the hopes to have Kony arrested by the end of 2012.

I've been whoring this out as fast as possible since I saw it. I started following the Invisible Children movement months ago, and I'm super determined to get Kony 2012 to happen. This shit is not okay, and I can't believe the US government even needs its own citizens to complain enough to stop this kind of sick behavior.

If the United States wants to be the world's police force, don't just pick and choose when it's good for you. Save everyone.

I'd heard of Invisible Children, but before today, I had no idea what it was about. I've donated money, but really had no idea what I was donating for. I'm glad that social networking is really spreading the word because this man is disgusting and needs to be stopped.

Yeah my university has gotten big on supporting anti-human trafficking/anti-sex trafficking (it's probably one of the most sickening things we as a species have ever done) with organizations like Shalom Project and Tiny Hands, and this is blowing up on my news feed. this is interesting to read. sadly, i wouldn't be surprised that if i go and research a bit more i'd end up agreeing. because this shit plague "not-for-profit" organizations and it is disgusting.
