then why not use an emblem pertaining to SimCity for Dr. Wright instead of using the Smash Bros. symbol wouldn't be that hard to make an emblem with a bunch of buildings in the back

ALL the stages based on games have emblems...i don't think they would want Smashville to feel lonely D:

| Premium Member | well if they don't want it to feel lonley they should have a character from the animal crossing series as a playable character otherwise Smashville is currently the only stage without a character from its respected seires serving as a fighter |

That's because we've only had 2 months worth of updates...we still have 5 full months of updates ahead of us, so there's no reason at this point to be making assumptions on anything. So far all the icons shown have been tied to playable characters, but that could change after 5 months of updates. Up until this point, every icon has been associated with an already revealed character, or a veteran. This is the first time an icon has been revealed without any indication of what it is meant to represent outside of what it is initially post with, a stage. It would be quite odd if there was a stage, meant to represent a franchise, that didn't have it's own franchise-specific icon don't you think? It's an Animal Crossing Stage, therefore it deserves an Animal Crossing icon and not a simple Smash icon. I do agree that it may indeed hint at further Animal Crossing content, but not necessarily a character addition (Items, Assistant Trophies) On another note, why does a new stage have to equal a new character? Can't Sakurai and his team have decided to show representation of a franchise via a stage, without having to do so with a character as well? There are many many many different franchises and areas that they must have ideas for, some may be represented by items, others by ATs, others by simply being stages, not every means of franchise representation can be done through a character addition The Animal Crossing franchise is a little small and considering how expansive they made the stage to include all facets of Animal Crossing related characters and events, the Stage alone seems to give thorough representation of Animal Crossing. They put enough effort and uniqueness into Smashville, that the stage itself is all that is really needed (Perhaps outside of maybe an Item or an AT), a full-fledged character addition isn't really necessary Icons are meant to represent the franchises that are appearing in Brawl, not necessarily the characters. Not every franchise can be represented through a character addition, some will simply be AT's, Items, or Stages, and will have specified icons accordingly. So for example, Sakurai's team may want to give tribute to Pikmin, but an entire spot in the roster is unnecessary. So, in this scenario, it is obvious that something such as a Stage (A Tiny Pikmin Planet?) or an Assist Trophy (Waves of tiny Pikmin scurry around the stage carrying players with them and throwing them off the edge?) gives the Pikmin series plenty of representation without needing to create a whole character. And, obviously, the Pikmin Stage and/or Assist Trophy would have a Pikmin Icon! Icons do not equal character additions, Icons equal franchise representation. Melee, by all intents and purposes, can be considered a rushed product. The Gamecube had the capacity to do much more, but the development time Melee was alloted did not allow for them to do so, for all we know there was never any more Stages other than ones tied to character additions simply because Melee was barely even in development for a year and they did not have the time to do more than that. I mean they didn't even have time to create a Fire Emblem stage! Now that Brawl has had over 2 years of development, they have had the capacity to do much more than they have in the past. Previously, if there was a stage in the game it was a stage because it had a character. Now, with how expansive Brawl is with Assist Trophies and what-not, Sakurai's team can have entire stages meant to represent Franchises, not just stages that are there because they're tied to a Character. Some series are better left being represented by a simple Stage, or Items and/or Assist Trophies, spots in the roster is not always manageable Last edited by TheMuffinMan; July 15th, 2007 at 02:12 AM.

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: EXP: | If you dont mind me pointing out (If it hasent already been pointed out ... I haven read all the posts) Not Every stage has to be represented by a character. If you havent noticed Wire fraims, master hand, and master hands brother have not been playable characters, and they still have stages for them. Same with metal mario/luigi in The first smash bros and there stage wasent even playable. Also, as Tmm stated, They dident give marth and roy there own stage. So before you say Everyone thinks somthing go through the facts :) |

| Kuro no Keiyakusha | So I can see... Anyway, if Brawl does get online multiplayer (and this is only hypothetical), we should set up some schedules or something of the like so we can all face each other. I know I'd end up getting hit by the pwned train, but it would still be fun nevertheless. |

| Premium Member | well i understand your point, but that dosn't necessarily mean you all are right, i'm simply making my point and you all are making yours. While i see how you can be right, what your saying is merely speculation too. Sakurai may not want to have a stage unless a character is in it also, or maybe i'm wrong and he see the stage as enough. the truth is we don't know how Sakurai thinks so all we can do is assume and make assumptions, and even if there is alot of evidence that supports one assumption, that dosn't guarantee Sakurai won't do the complete opposite of it, it's Smash bros, its nintendo, anything can happen, thats all i'm saying. Well sorry if it seemed like i was saying i was right and you were wrong, wasn't trying to do that, i was trying to give reason to why an AC character can appear |

By the way, here's a quote from an interview with Nintendo Europe marketing director Laurent Fischer on the possible inclusion of Sonic in Brawl: "That's not on the cards at the moment." Still pretty ambiguous in my opinion, either its a really big "hush-hush" deal, or that the answer given truly is sincere. Either way, I don't really care; I'm not going to push.

That sounds rediculus! Brawl is developed by "the studio" that probably is HAL labratorys and Olympics is developed by Sega. An exuse like: "Um, sorry but we wearen´t able to put Sonic in Brawl (even though he was the numberone we want in brawl chracter by fans) becuse Sega is developing MaSatO and we felt that it wuld be to much duoble focusing to put him in to brawl..." Sorry for beeing rude but your statement is rubbich!
