Not true. You can't avoid it allthe time. If you use it correctly, you can hit almost EVERY time. For example. Say Someone is jumping above you, very slow like. If you catch them during the jump, and line it up right. You will hit. Another example, If your openent is on the ground. You can rush over to them, and use it. Hit. Those are only two.....And the first one, if done right, is extremely hard to dodge. =P I rest my case.

Ok, roll dodge to the other side of Pikachu and... oh ya, that's right, thunder hits from both sides doesn't it? Ok well then you roll to the other side and... oops, your pwned.

Also, not everybody plays at the same speed. If you're not fast enough, then you wont have a chance to dodge roll. See, you're forgetting that not everybody plays at the same skill level.

to dodge roll you hold the shield button, say L or R then press left or right if done coreclty [it's pretty easy to do] you roll away....also when in the air press L or R and press left or right, you'll dodge in the air...now the dodge roll, on the fourside level, me and my friend take our battle to the UFO when it appears now using dodge roll on that makes the battle way cool cause it's slippery and then you're dodging quickly

Pikachu's down-b (Thunder move, whatever you want to call it) isn't exactly what you'd call a spectacular attack. The main problem involved with it is that it has far too much lag involved--a time period where you're completely unable to do anything, meaning that you're highly vulnerable.

The only real safe way to use it is as a combo finisher when the opponent is extremely far above you, where if you miss, you'll be less likely to be punished for it. For example, if you nail an opponent w/an up-smash and he gets knocked far up enough so that he's in the 'magnifying glass,' you can use the down-b as a finisher and get the vertical KO.

Using the down-b as a standard attack when the opponent is anywhere but in the situation described above is just plain stupid. On the ground, your opponent can shield, wavedash back, dash away, possiby spot-dodge, roll away, and then take his merry time to take advantage of Pikachu's lag. In the air, opponents can DI (hold control stick left or right to drift away), or airdodge.

Down-b isn't that great a move, and should be reserved as a combo finisher. If you use it any other way, you risked getting punished.

The risk involved in Pikachu's Thunder makes it very satisfying to use.
