...why? It's common for people with amnesia to remember at least one thing, even if nothing else. Why would he lie?

Hmm, i don't remember, I think I called them the chasers until they were named, that's when I thought BBS was still in the future, even though it is, technically. (Questions about that?)

Because it was a flashing word in "Gathering" and for some reason it became associated with them.

Isn't a chaser someone who chases after criminals? Well aren't VAT sent after MX and his disiple? So it is a good enough reason for it to be applied to them.

Well, it is also a term used to design people who engrave metal (in this case, it would be keyblades).

However, I would prefer that people not immediately assume the term refers to them, or even if the term will eventually be used at all, since it was in a concept video, and hence it is not mandatory for it to be in the game as is.

It was a concept, but Nomura had clear idea... Beside, he put a lot less word that what he did in Another Side... Like if he wanted put word he is sure to use... Beside, most of the word of Another side which have been not used for some unknown reason seems now relate to BBS...

Being given what we have, calling VAT chasers has... Enough proof. Even in speaking a chaser for creating keyblade, I guess a keyblade maker would have a better name..
