Because that is impossible. If they did this, then all what hapen in KH1 and KH2 would never exist, then they would never go in the past kill Xehanort, then Xehanort would not die, then they would go in past to kill him, but what happen in KH1 and KH2 would never exist, etc etc. The issue with this kind of things is that it could finish by destruction oh KH universe, which could have happened if Pete had really could change the past.

Yes, it can be dangerous to change the past. Thats why Merlin warned Sora and co about that they must not get tempted.

lol I saw that movie when I was like six I think. But about your question (staing on topic) I think since Merlin's a wizard, this is a special way to travel because of his magic I guess. :o
