Rep Power: 1 ![]() | The Kingdom Hearts universe has Organization XIII... a group of cloaked jerks who have varying hairstyles and weapons, but are otherwise similar. Dirge of Cerberus has the "Tsviets" - a group of supersoldiers who have varying weapons and dress in different colors, but are otherwise interchangeable. Is anyone else getting tired of the fact that Square Enix is jumping on the long-standing Japanese bandwagon of thinking that a Sentai team of largely one-dimensional foes who only differentiate from each other superficially is an excusable pass for well-rounded villains? Organization XIII is a joke of a creation. Chain of Memories teased us with the notion that they'd have a more complex story, by actually making cutscenes featuring them saying things worth paying attention to (After I was punished with playing through world stories I could have sworn I already played in the first game, of course), but then KH2 comes around and all they do is make token appearances in worlds here and there to summon heartless bosses, then act as pointless dungeon bosses in the final dungeon. Xemnas, Roxas, Axel, and Marluxia are the only ones with a halfway decent amount of design... and even Axel was a disappointment, given that the reason for his entire course of behavior goes against the notion that he's not supposed to have a heart to begin with. In KH1, Ansem was a well-plotted character. In KH2, they make us fight emo versions of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. Who will we face in KH3, the Beetleborgs? Or maybe it'll be a team of bad guys named "Project Fruit" who all use fruit as a theme. They'll be lead by the ever watchful Papaya, and Pumpkin will be the token big fat warrior with a lot of hp. Watch out for Banana, he's a trickster! and Kumquat has an inferiority complex!! I'd gladly trade a whole slew of nigh-identical bad guys whose greatest purpose amount to a cool-looking boss battle for one well developed, multi-dimensional character. Screw the Organization. |

| Banned | that is true, The organization didn't emphasize much on the characters. I see fans put more into the organization than the actual game could ever express. I still enjoyed it though and yes they definately put more into Marluxia and Xemnas |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() ![]() | Omg, seriously, lol. I have a similar opinion on the Organization. I found it hard to admire them as characters or feel for them. But maybe since 358/2 Days is more like "their side of the story", we'll have a better idea about them. |

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Well, it's difficult to feel for a troupe of clowns whose entire scheme is to sic heartless on Sora and then get themselves out of the way, only for them to throw themselves at Sora one by one in the final dungeon because we just absolutely MUST have them all die and make for cool-looking but irrelevant boss fights before the game ends, nevermind the fact that fighting Sora directly is completely opposite to their interests. |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Ladies and gentlemen, to put into perspective the roll of any villian you could ever imagine Kingdom Hearts style "I am going to take over Kingdom Hearts so that i will be powerful enough to take over all worlds! HAhahaha ahahaha! Step One: Develope character? Screw that. Step Two: Get lots of ammo. Check. Step Three: Crush all who stand in your way. Oh, look, a foot note! 'If anyone who opposes you repeatingly attempts to stop you, be persistant and keep trying! He won't stop foiling your plans until you've killed him thuroly.' I see! Step Four: Walk into overly giant 'Jurrasic Park' type doors and enjoy the power of ruling all existance. Sounds like a plan! Extra note: Alway have a way to come back from defeat/death/infinite abyss so that you may try again and kick the arse of whoever sent you there. I can't forget that!" Knowing this, why are you so surrprised? It's how they all do it. The only nemesis with good character and backround are those you know aren't necicarily 'bad'. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Eh i guess they could have done better with the char. designs of the org. 13 (meaning something other than just plain black cloaks with hoods...) but they improved on it in the secret ending for BBS, the three chasers are awesome. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() | When I saw the organization for the first time I thought that there were some monstrous group of people that would kill you and scalp you if you looked at them funny. Instead we got a bunch of tricksters that popped up out of nowhere in KH2 just to try to give the game some kind of a story and to kidnap blonde twins. This was mostly because Disney is part of the game and they didn't want anything to violent. This means that romance won't get passed grade school crushes and violence will stay with people getting knocked over instead of bleeding and dying in a graphic way. If you look at the character depth of the organization to Ansem and dark Riku it was no competition that Ansem and Riku were far better thought out. From what we have seen in the trailer for BBS Xehanort looks like he could give Ansem a good run. I mean Ansem rode on the head of a weird combo of the worm from Silent hill 3 and shikaku from Naruto and Xehanort freaking froze Ven and chucked him off a cliff. And what did Xemnas do he made his less then ground breaking henchmen mess with a little boy like bullies in a school yard. Well here is hope'n that Xehanort will be a badass. |

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | Well, although I thought that KH2 didn't really have a good story plot, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I thought that Org. 13 was cool. Their boss fights made me nervous, more nervous than when you fight Ansem for the last time in KH. Quote:

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I was refering to any villain you could name, save few. Ganondorf just wanted the other triforce pieces to rule the world. Not much story, everyone wants world domination, Pinky and the Brain style. James Hook wanted to kill Peter Pan and the lost boys because he cut off his hand and fed it to a now flesh-driven crock that's trying to eat him. Sounds like a story. Kingdom Hearts just as most the villains with no real drive but P&B power |

I can't remember who said it - maybe he'll see this and identify himself - but someone in another thread I was looking at a while ago mentioned how the Organization's backstory and personality seems to be far more player-created than given by the actual source material. I agree completely with that, half the members were only there for boss fights and nothing more. I haven't forgotten this. However, I really don't like it - if all we're doing is beating up the same guy over and over again, I lose any sense of accomplishment (Some may recall my feelings concerning Sephiroth); it doesn't mean a bit of difference to me that the villain has "taken a new form" or some such nonsense, there has to be some conclusiveness to it all, or else why wouldn't Sora just get tired and toss his keyblade in the garbage? He can't even finish off one guy! | |
