well if the xehanort we know now and the old one share a connection, could it be possible that for ansem's xehanort that isn't even his real name? i mean, in kh1, ansem really isn't ansem, but he calls himself that anyway. it could be the same in this case. if ansem's xehanort has no memories, it could be because he's not meant to. or was constantly having them taken away. or something...

The Conquerer: I mean physical characteristics and other similiar characteristics... MX may not be Xehanort alone, but he is at least half of the current Xehanort...

The only connection that's visible to me is the trench coat and tanned skin, which was made more obvious by Xehanort's Heartless. If Master Xehanort could have trained the man that became Xehanort in the past, perhaps he instinctively uses habits and studies similar material that he learned through his travels, although obviously not knowing the material completely (due to his memory loss) still had the experience down so he was able to accomplish such feats as understanding Ansem the Wise's experiments and dawning what could be a scientific lab coat that's often worn for experiments and possibly even protection.
