Hey, wait! Sora and Xehanort aren't the only ones!

In the Pride Lands, Simba shoves Scar off of the cliff. A moment later, he climbs back up, to the shock of all, and Pete explains that he has turned into a heartless. The battle then commences.

So why, if he was a heartless, did he retain his own form and mind?? He was talking during the battle - the standard jeers and taunts that enemy bosses make in battle, sure, but he WAS talking. That means he was still thinking. Doesn't this mean that Xehanort's and, later, Sora's cases aren't as unique as we think?

idk, but that is something strange, maybe he was taken over by a hertless when he died.riku didn't turn into a heartless, but his body was taken over by one.

The only sort of heartless that has thus far shown capability for possessing other being's bodies was... an allegedly unique, thinking one, Xehanort's. So even if this is the case, it should be an extremely important point.

You bring up a good point. Cuz I had a thread about another human heartless, cuz I found something in a Nomura interview, way back when, but it could be important for BBS/future.

Yeah, there were some other heartless that kept their form.

*Cough* Ursula, Captain Hook, Maleificent, and all the KH1 major villains*Cough*

i have a stupid theory:what if xeanort has 2 hertlesses, and he has visited the pride lands before, and his 2nd heartless was in the pride lands, and he chose scar to control because of all of the evil emotions in his heart.(ex.greed, jealosy, hate, etc.)

They weren't heartless. They were just evil, and they had strong dark hearts, which allowed them limited control over the heartless. The same as Riku, who Maleficent taught to control the heartless, even though he never became one.

Ya but when scar dies after "being possesed by a heartless" it might seem, it shows him falling on his side after the dark stuff goes away. The revenge and anger in scar's heart probaly attracted a heartless and caused that whole ordeal. Its relates to riku's cause and maybe some of the villians, but i think it has no importance.

Xehanort was able to accomplish this, and so I assume the product is reproducible. Scars will, fanaticism if you will, must have pushed him over the edge and turned im into a heartless, but nonetheless kept his mind in tact and thus produced the Scar that you fought. I would bet that at some point, if they return, you may even have to fight his nobody, now wont that be a fun boss

Nomura has not denied this. He said that there are very very few heartless to have hu´man-form, but Scar has lion-form lol!!

And the Sora and Xehanort thing only counts for main story wise. Technically Kairi was another but she doesn't count.

Anyways, what I am lead to believe is that, like Clayton in KH1, Scar was simply taken over by darkness and more or less became a slave to it...

Well, if you want to get technical, those two don't have the answer any more than we do. But they're good at speculation, is all.

And Kairi was never a heartless, I don't know where you get that.

And what do you mean, "main story wise"? So all the things Sora did and the battles he fought in on disney-themed worlds technically doesn't exist, you think? What, you think Sora went to Traverse Town and Twilight Town and Hollow Bastion and that's it, and the rest of the worlds were a dream caused by eating some bad pizza?
