Is The KH Series Getting more Mature?

KH could turn a little mature. I mean even Bambi was dark, ahunter killed its mother almost on-screen and they had been blood, drinking, smoking in the old Disney movies. KH could have at leat slight blood and actually say the word "die"

I think that the maximum rating is going to be teen... I can hardly imaging Sora and Comp. do M rated stuff... like in KH2, DiZ states that Sora is too nice... he is correct.

You know KH being Mature doesn't exactly have to do with the rating of the game itself. Anyway if Kh were to go M doesn't mean cursing or hardcore sex would be involved. Actually if it just had alot of blood, and choping people's head's off that's M right there.

Anyway Kh wouldn't go any higher then T, and also the Disney character's except a few would stay normal.

Back on the Kh series being mature. Well if you go back, and look at Kh1 that game was more mature than the rating intended, or than what I excepted myself. Then in COM got even more serious especially with a few swear words. Then on KH2 I felt like I was in a 5 year old's dream. That game wasn't serious like I thought it was going to be. I mean Sora holding hands, and jumping around with donald, and goofy that was gay. The only serious parts of the game is Roxas's part of the story, TWTNW, HB, and any other world with an Org member in it except Port Royal.

im glad its darker.i mean, we all still love the first one cuz sora was all innocent and it was just polain fun and everything.but nows he's older and more accustomated for this stuff.he's growing up and learning responsiblities.

I think that we maybe making it out to be a little to kiddy. I mean, think about it. Sora and kairi are fifteen. Some kind of relationship wouldn't be wrong. Two, he won't be acting thirteen till he eighteen. This is obvious. Three. Goofy and Donald may still be the same, but everyone else won't treat him the same. Also, disney doesn't have to be the only thing beside Final Fantasy. Imagine having world related to other movies(said this before, I know).

I would say Teen would be the limit that kingdom hearts would go. You rarely see a square enix get a M for mature. There is 0% of kindom hearts getting a M due to the disney characthers.

I wouldnt even want the game to go up to an M rating... my over-protective parents would never let me get an M rated game...

same here. my parents cringe when i get a teen game, and i'm 16--its a pain to have a 7-year-old in the house sometimes...
nomura may want the game to appeal to all ages, but if the characters are going to mature as they get older, then some of the issues that they have to confront (though not steering towards an m rating) need to mature as well. yes, that did happen in kh2, but not as much as i thought it would have or should have.

I still cant beleive that KH2 had a E10+ rating, there was only blood in the Pirates world, only alchohol in the Pirates world, and real world violence in the Pirates world! Damn the Pirates!!!!!!

However, on the lines of mature as in darker, I think it has already gone deeper than most people realize. All they see is Winnie the Pooh and musicals underwater, but there is certainly more to it than that.

I mean, really think about it. The Nobodies are some of the darkest characters to ever reach an E rated game. They aren't supposed to exist. And they aren't really villains. They just want to have emotions and feel whole, and they're willing to do anything for it, even hurt people and do horrible things. But they can't feel any remorse for what they have done, because they lack hearts and therefore feelings. Making it a vicious circle of sorts. How can you clearly understand something like that? It's terribly dark, because they're hollow, but Sora and the rest don't treat them hollow, they treat them like real people. Do they deserve to be treated real, when they can't even feel to appreiciate it?

Also, it doesn't show in Kingdom Hearts, but it is true that the Disney movies (pre-2000) can also be really mature or thoughtful. Not just singing and dancing animals. Usually.

The game will get darker, no mistake about that, things will also get more mature (not rating things), like Sora rising up to responsibility and self-sacrifice.
