i just watched it again and i cant beleave that bald guy cant be "ansem the wise" especialy since this takes place in the past. in KH2 he even said that he needs to undo what he started.and i think this is where it started! o god i wish we had some names!

It's not Roxas, Nomura said it wasn't, so he isn't. They should get over themselves. I agree with you guys, they need to suck up the fact that it's not Roxas.

I'm new to the forums but I wanna lay something out there that might beable to be elaborated on... On the KH:2 original secret ending It said something about 2 stories about 2 different keyblade hero's one that brought destruction and one the brought salvation, w/e thats all about... It's hard to desipher if 3 will take place in past future or in between something, the Way To Dawn wasnt created until riku got it in KH:2 but then again it might not have been created but just assigned to him like the Keyblade of light that was assigned to him but then went to sora. Mickey didnt have the dark keyblade until the dark realm but that dosnt mean it was created there. As for the theory of these character being kids and fathers and stuff thats never really been square's style not many times have you seen a plot twist where you figure out your father was some badass dude, this aint starwars. But I think the closest they would get to that would be a Decendants like sora's great great great (and so on) granfather or uncle or something was one, but i dont think they would be so boringly direct like a father and daughter and son sorta thing. And about the Leader Knight's eyes turning yellow that probably isnt even significant i'm not saying it's not but y'know there's been plenty games where the color rendering changed for no apparent reason. Maby they just changed his eye color idea after that actually put a face to him instead of behind a helmet like DiZ for example when he was wearing all those red cloths covoring his face his skin looked very very tan but later in the game when he took it off he was white as whtie could be. Or maby they just wasnt paying attention who knows... well anyway sorry it's long and full of typos but those are soemthing to think about. :D

SE has done the father/son thing before, notably in FFVIII. However, I think the answer is more complicated than a simple "he must be Sora's grandpa." I have a feeling that the knights may be another aspect of the Kingdom Hearts universe we aren't aware of.

One little thing that the boys over at Square had forgotten was that when the three knights start charging at the old dude they only carry 1 keyblade, but all of them are supposed to be carrying 2 since they picked up the keyblades of sora,riku and mickey in the Sunset horizons trailer which was approximately 5 seconds before the FM+ trailer takes place.

Because I think it's related to something else.

It'll sound weird, but maybe the UEM isn't the figure approaching from the sand at the end of Sunset Horizons, but most definitely IS the figure approaching at the beginning of the second secret ending.

This would also explain why they are no longer holding the other keyblades. The two endings may not follow each other immediately.

To insert myself into this discussion, I would strongly agree with Rythm of Apathy on the point.

While setting and stance of all three knights are extremely similiar and the fact, that both at the end of the first and the beginning of the second movie, we see "birth by sleep" on screen, there are indications, that this very unlikely is the direct continuation.
First of course, the lack of the keyblades, secondly the slight difference in shape of the figure at the end of sunset horizon and the UEM (Which however could be do to the distortion of the image by the heat and sandstorm).
I also think the sky does look notably different, however, as the sky does take a very drastic change in the new secret movie, this is a rather weak argument.

And to put one thing correctly. Nomuras exact words (or rather their translation) was:

Perhaps, this tells us, that such an event as the scenes in the secret movie happen twice, once in the past, once in the future?

We after all, did not see them unmasked in the first one.
Also, there is the scene, were Xemnas sits nin the underground room (Which likely is the research lab, Ans3em the Wise build on Ienzo's suggestion), where we see both the female soldiers armor and keyblade.

But I think the most important thing for now would perhaps be sorting facts from mere speculations.

So what do we know for sure, what can we say is likely and what is merely a possibility?

We do know for sure:

-That both the UEM and the DS have keyblades with keychains.
-That the keychainless keyblades of the knights can be both physically destroyed and seemingly do not vanish and materialize like the keyblades with keychains.
- That the knights are capable of picking up keyblades with keychains and holding them.
- That the UEM's characteristic pointy ears and yellow eyes can be observed in both Xigbar, Ansem the Wise, Saix and Xehanort (Though Xemnas does not have pointy ears)
-That the clothes of the UEM resemble those of Xehanort's heartless with only miniscule changes, while those of the DS strongly resemble Riku's Dark Mode outfit (The differences are more profound here, like for example, there is no heartless symbol).
- That the object, UEM summons looks almost exactly like Xemnas' kingdom hearts (angle and colour are different only)
- That BHS resemblance to Roxas is uncanny.^^
- That Xigbar met other Keyblade wielders (Stated by Nomura)
- That at least the armor and keyblade of FS already exist before the events of chain of memmories.


What we might assume:

- ES hairstyle, hairline and brows as well as the changed eye colour give him a certain resemblance to both Saix and Xehanort/ Xemnas, thus there is a relationship to one of them.
- Due to the resemblance of Roxas and BHS, there is a connection to Sora
- That the Star Seeker is indeed a completely independent keyblade, which was created by Yen Sid.
- That the keychainless Keyblades are copies of the original ones with keychain, much like Riku's dark keyblade in Kingdom Hearts I.
- Xemnas does know of the knights since he referred to the heap of armor by "It has been a long time, friend"
- Mickeys new outfit is indeed just his blackened Kingdom Hearts II outfit.
- The Mickey we saw might as well be an ancestor, based on the resemblance we see in Kingdom Hearts II
- Due to the cut between the scene of the knights fighting the bald man and the scene where Mickey appeared, there is a longer timeinterval inbetween.

So much for listing uup most of the facts and speculations, orthers have brought up and adding my own to it...

Though, there are also quite some very opern questions, I wanted to add:

1. Is the crossroad we see identical with the one in chain of memmories?
2. What world are those crossroads or this crossroad, should they be identical located in?
3. If Sora/ Mickey/ Riku have the keyblades of light/ darkness/ twilight (or inbetween), what do the other keychained keyblades represent (Those of Kairi, the UEM and the DS)
4. This does not directly relate to the secret ending, but what is the so called "present world" exactly, which Xehanort wrote about in one of his later reports?

I tghink, for an actual discussion, we should be very carefull in differenciating between assumptions and know facts to not let this end in pointless fighting over each and everysones personal view.

The thing is, when ES gets defeated, will we get a new cutscene and FMV? And more information confirmed (other than unlocking the Birth by Sleep movie)?
