Default KH1&2's Action Menu VS. BBS/Re:Coded/3D Command Decks

Everyone seems to think the game should pick one and stick with it. Some fans aren't happy with the Command Deck for some reason and would like a more traditional menu like KH1&2
But what about if we mix both together like this?

    [Attack (X)]
    ---Commands
    ---Summons
    ---Reaction Chain

Attack is obvious enough, X being used to attack no matter what menu you're currently in, as it's a standalone bar that you can't 'scroll through' just like in 3D, BBS and Re:Coded (except on top, to make it look more like the traditional menu)

Then there's three menus you can scroll through with the D-Pad. The command Deck (which contains everything like in BBS/3D/Re:Coded), the summons (from KH2) and then 'Reaction chain' which isn't a menu, but a sort of mix between the Kh2 Reaction Commands and the last command in Kh1. When that flashes, scroll down and press Triangle so it activates something special like what you'd see in Kh2, but without just spamming Triangle.

They could also integrate drive forms in the Command Deck (ala drive styles from BBS) . Use only Attack commands to go into valor, only magic to go into wisdom, a mix to go into master and once in one of those 3 use light-based commands to go into Final, and dark-based to go into Anti (if Sora at least manages to control it somewhat, i guess) with whatever additions Nomura would think of.

That way, i'd have succesfully merged KH1's Action Menu, KH2's upgrade of said menu, BBS's Drive styles, and the command deck into one menu.

What would you like to see? A mix, the traditional menu, or command decks?

I would like to see a mix, but I voted for the action menu because I hope it would be more like that than the command deck. The command deck has been fun but we have already seen it in 3 games in a row now. And although I believe that KH3D's command deck battle system has greatly improved from the one in BbS, at times it still felt too similar and it made me really miss the action menu from KH and KH2. Now I wont be disappointed if the next game uses the command deck, but I would like to see a return to the action menu if they could find a way to integrate abilities and magic effectively.

Honestly for me, both styles are good, but I really miss/prefer the action menu. They could make it possible to switch menus like in KH2 so that you could have the regular menu and just press left or right on the d-pad to change to specialized commands or to an actual command deck. But I definitely want to see the action menu again for the next game.

I want there to be a command deck, but I also want reaction commands. But I'm not sure how they could do both :c

Command deck definitely, much faster and makes it much easier to use awesome moves.

Command deck all the way. I would like to see Nomura retrofit KH1 and Kh2 with the command deck system if Square Enix decides on an HD collection

I honestly think that would ruin the whole experience. Those games weren't designed with the command deck in mind.

I have to agree with you there. Now that you mention it, whether the action menu or command deck was used seems to affect the entire game and not just the gameplay.

Definitely Command Deck, reviving the old style from KH1 and 2 would be a step backwards. The Command Deck is superior in any thinkable way since the normal attacks are still there.

Now with Flowmotion we have another new, pretty flashy technique to use and the old KH1/2 button mashing stuff with the annoying MP-system is surely vastly outdated by now.

I always hated that stupid crap that you had to scroll down to the bottom menu point in KH1 first in order to use a special attack, attack commands to that way better and more easily controllable. In order to use magic and items you have to pick a menu point first and then the item/spell you want to use, needlessly time consuming. In the Command Deck system you only need to scroll and confirm, not navigate through stupid extra menus in the heat of battle.

There should be a mix. I've always pictured it like this. The commands up to down is Attack Magic Items. X would be attack (/duh). Then next to magic in the commands you will see an L3 icon. Click and hold L3 and a side menu will open showing all your spells in your spell deck. You can assign custom buttons to each spell, X for cure, Square for fire, R1 for Spark, etc. So basically, if your in a tight spot you just press L3 and X to cure, without even thinking. You can customize all buttons and spells. But I think the name Magic in the second slot will be changed to something like Skills, so you can use skills and magic just like the command deck.

    COMMANDS

    Attack (X)

    Skills/Magic (L3) --> Cure (X), Ballonga (Square) Fire (R1), Blitz (R2) <--- All customizable Deck w/limit

Items (R3) ---> Potion (X), Esuna (Square), Elixir (Triangle) <---- All customizable Deck w/limit

(---> Signifies the button specified to the left is held down.)
I hope you guys understand what I'm thinking.

I'm going for purely the command deck. Back with KH1 and KH2's system, literally there was no use for using magic except for cure. Literally the experience was just spamming the attack, jump, and dodge buttons. Plus, you don't get any cool moves like Zantezucken, Arial Break, etc. It's just "spam the X button to attack and use basic magic like fire." With the command deck, you have so much variety. Command deck all the way for me!

They put those moves in the Final Mixes and I actually thought it worked quite well.

How would it ruin the experience. Nothing would really be effected except gameplay. All they need to do is adjust enemy and ally Ai, and up the difficulty of little. Which they need to do anyway

Gameplay is a big part of it. I'm sure people want to experience those games how they were and how they are supposed to be. They arent going to go in and add stuff like that for an HD remaster. They would become completely different games and that is not why people want HD collections.

Not if they make it optional to choose between two systems
