Would the series have been more popular or have a better story line if square had fused with a company like cartoonnetwork, nickelodeon, or just any other entertainment company that makes it shows/movie mostly for kids

It just wouldn't fit,and it would lose it's magic.Kingdom hearts uses the storielines of Disney's MOVIES,I can't see how that would work with TV shows,Pick out an episode to use?

I wouldn't have given a single shit about KH if I hadn't seen those Disney characters,and that's because they're easily recognized.
Also from a business standpoint,Disney is more popular so it would obviously generate more sales and attention.

I wouldn't have ever picked up the game myself. I didn't know anything about SE when I got it, I just wanted it solely for the Disney. From a story stand point, I'm sure Nomura could make most anything WORK, but Disney gives the best story lines to coincide with the themes of the Heart, with it's focus on dreams and imagination. I also agree, Disney brings a certain magic to it, I love KH for even it's little details like sound effects and classic Disney aesthetics, it all adds a certain magic, mystery, and wonderment, even to the original worlds the effects can be seen.

From a business point, it's more widely recognized around the whole world, and it targets a much broader audience, many adults will watch certain Disney cartoons but no other kind.

Nah, if KH didn't have Disney characters inside i might have never played it since the first time i played KH was because i recognized Donald and Goofy and Mickey from the cover.

Not that i play it for the Disney(even though it plays a major role) but i don't think any other company/show/cartoon whatever would have worked.

AND if say for example Disney came out and say we don't want our chars in KH i'd like for SE/Nomura-san to continue making KH with FF worlds and original worlds rather than fusing with some other *insert something*

Okay a Kh without disney probably wouldn't work with the current storyline they have, but it could work just depends on how you do it. Like you can't have Bugs not be a a**hole with about half the crap he does

Kingdom Hearts IS Disney. It wouldn't work without it since the project started off as a Disney Title developed by Square (Final Fantasy was added to bring in an older audience, which recent games have slowly began to use them less and less).

Nickelodeon sucks...

Maybe with popular anime, like Bleach and Naruto and stuff.
But Disney still is the best and makes you feel that you're 5 years old, sitting on the floor with wet, just washed hairs and a cup of hot chocolate milk watching cartoons; the nostalgia.

Agreed haven't seen many FF characters lately, but then you got to remember they don't need to do what happened in KH2 where it was way too many and most seem out of place.

It's not a criticism of mine. I actually think it's much more better for the series and the fact that The World End With You cast being introduced, who are a much better fit for the series and seem to push the plot forward in terms of their presence means that I think Square should try and experiment with other Square Enix franchise instead of just Final Fantasy

I would love the Chrono Trigger cast to make an appearance since KH might try to dabble a bit in time travel (as evidenced by The Three Musketeers world and that Steamboat Willy level).

I've said it before, KH is fine tthe way it is. Now as a crossover fanatic, I like to see it, but keep the orginal characters the way they are.

Sometimes I wonder if some of you even know the story of how and why KH exists. In a shared office building in Irvine, California, two men met in an elevator and started talking about something never imagined. It was a joke but then one of the men asked the other if it might actually be a good idea. An upcoming worker at one of the companies was called to brainstorm ideas and draw concept art and the rest is history.

So you see, there is no way KH could exist without Disney because that office building was shared between Disney and Square Enix and the only reason the game exists is because of a silly elevator conversation between two higher ups in their respective companies.
